Strand Hotel Swakopmund

I had the leisure of staying at Strand Hotel Swakopmund for a couple of days after doing business in Walvis Bay. It was a very good experience with friendly staff, sit-down check-in seated in comfortable leather Chesterfields, and friendly service all over. Their open air patio (smoker friendly) and restaurant was great. They brew their own great tasting beer! The meat in the restaurant was simply out of this world! Fillet and Chateaubriand

We were 11 people and spent 3 nights in this hotel. The hotel is in a great location, right on the beach and a couple of steps into town. The rooms were amazing and exactly what we were looking for with interleading rooms etc, but they were very pricey. They have 3 Restaurants which are great but the steak we had on our last night was very disappointing as it looked nothing like the picture they have on the 2nd floor. We took our waitress to show her the picture and she agreed to make us another steak. This looked no different to the previous one (not grilled but rather broiled) but tasted good. I called the Reservations number I was given and booked and paid for 4 rooms for 3 nights. The following day I went into the website 'Ol-Leisure' as I wanted to check what the hotel had to offer and saw that they were offering a "Stay 2 nights Get 1 Free" package. When I queried this with Reservations they assured me they had never heard of this and it must be a scam. They requested I send them the link, which I did, but never heard another word. I took this up with the lady in reception as well and again showed her the website which, she agreed, was the correct site. I then showed her the "offerings" as described above and she said she would take this up with management as too was unaware of such an offer. I requested she please give me some feedback on this which, again, was never forthcoming. Seeing that we reserved top dollar rooms, this offer would have amounted to a substantial credit. Sadly, nobody has been in touch with me regarding this offer and for this reason, I would not return to this hotel. All that was required was a simple explanation from management which would have ensured a happy and returning customer.

Perfect stay in a beautiful Beach Hotel. Tools habe an Amazon seaview. Great breakfast. Large selection of fruit juices and salty treats. Shoutout to Jogobeth our waitress she was amazing very attentive and kind. Thank you again for the great time

Great hotel on the ocean. Great beach access, delightful rooms and all the amenities you expect. Clean and great service. Several dinning options and the spa was SUPER, probably the best I have used in all of Africa. Perfect location for a visit to the Namibian coast.

We stopped here overnight after a trip on the Rovos Rail train. All we can say is we were really disappointed that we were only staying for one night. The hotel is lovely, it's situation on the beach is great, the staff were all very welcoming and the food was outstanding. We even saw dolphins while sitting on the veranda. We would definitely stay here again if we returned to Swakopmund.
