It should be good - as a business they need to concentrate on service and good food and train their staff. I have yet to have a good experience eating here, it is always a dissapointment - staff who don't look after their customers. The system of filling in a form which they are supposed to collect doesn't work so you have to go and find them, drinks orders take 15-25 minutes. Food should be good as its a good menu but its either over-cooked or not hot. In the restaurant business consistency is so important, unfortunately it is consistently poor. In the press the owners complain about the NI and other cost increases but they are not doing their part in giving customers a good experience. A real pity.

We were here for my mother in laws birthday drinks and meal. Having got there early for a drink we sat in the lounge they firstly denied us eating any starters in the lounge whilst we waited even though afternoon tea was being served on the table next to us. We then wanted to move outside as the weather had perked up from earlier rain. Milsoms staff wouldn’t come and wipe the chairs and table dry for us or even offer us blue roll tissue to do it ourselves. We won’t be returning to milsoms the staff are rude and obnoxious. Please avoid if could rate it 0 I would

Have tried this venue a few times, both evening and lunch. Sunday roasts are ok but a tad overpriced compared with the competition. Main issue seems to be the lack of staff in relation to the number of covers they are trying to serve. No doubt doing the best they can but just not enough of them.

Visited for an elderly relative’s birthday. Very accessible with plentiful blue badge spaces and able to ride mobility buggy onto the terrace. No need to book and yet service was polished and prompt with orders and kitchen keeping up. Front of house staff were superb and everything well maintained. Food was delicious with a good choice and prices very good for extremely generous portions. Will return maybe for an overnight stay as it’s a lovely spot

Went for a meal last nite, and was surprised to find people in the dining room with DOGS! Personally this spoilt my fine dining experience! A poodle whined, and two other small dogs barked at other dogs coming into the restaurant! Quite frankly I do not expect to pay the high prices and be surrounded by badly behaved dogs! If people are staying at the hotel with dogs they should be left in the room. It ruined what should have been a lovely romantic meal! And to Finnish it off the offending badly behaved dogs then went into the lounge and plonked themselves on the sofas? How Rude!! Not impressed!

The atmosphere was delightful and the staff were most helpful and knowledgeable, there were personnel obviously learning but it was done really kindly. The menu was extensive and mouth watering and did not disappoint in ‘the flesh’ Particular highlights - the duck pate mmmm and that gel around the plate, amazing! My husband called the wild mushroom tagliatelle outstanding! Particularly enjoying the pesto surprise. Roast beef lunch delicious and the bowl of greens was fresh, lush and varied. Perfect. My husband had the haddock fish cake ( a favourite of his) he noticed the presentation positively bravo! Puddings well I died and went to heaven - snickers and and and wonderful ! and my husband had the apple strudel and loved it. Enjoyable experience from start to finish Thank you We will be back soon

I cannot review the accommodation as I have not stayed there. I enjoyed a late lunch on a Sunday. Yes, it took some time after placing our order for the food to arrive but it was worth the wait. The beef was cooked to perfection, the roast potatoes crisp and the Yorkshire pudding delicious. The accompanying vegetables were gorgeous. The rest of the family, including three young children , all gave it the thumbs up. My only gripe is that you are unable to make a reservation. We dined late so there wasn't a problem finding a table.

Great night away at this lovely hotel. Evening meal was amazing, lots of choice on the menu Spent the afternoon and had a lovely relaxing time in the spa and nice massage. Nice big spacious room and lovely view across the gardens. Great stay and would def come back .

Beautiful surroundings, amazing room with very comfortable bed. Staff so helpful and friendly and the food is sensational. It is luxury without excess. Highly recommended for couples or special occasions. The breakfast was particularly good
