Located just within 3min from Yudanaka station, Raki Onsenryokan is run by a Chinese family. As a quiet town on its own, no one was tending to the reception when I arrived, after ringing the bell, a lady came down to help with the check in - very straightforward. I believe the family stays in the same building as they said if we ever needed anything, we could just ring the bell at the reception. Obviously I had booked a room too big for a solo traveller as this was the only room left as ”non-smoking”. Toilet and sink are at two different parts of the room which was a little inconvenient. Ryokan offers free drive (15min) TO snow monkey park, but not return, so please cater at least 35min to walk from park exit to the bus stop. Ryokan also provided a hearty breakfast, overall for the price paid it was a decent stay!
We hope you will enjoy a hot spring bath, relax, and take it easy.

I rarely complain about others when I write reviews for B&Bs, because I think the service industry is not easy, and I try to say good things if I can, but this time I have to complain about this one! We have been to Yudanaka 4 times and stayed in 8 different B&Bs. The first 3 times, the store provided pick-up/drop-off/snow monkey park services, so this time we did not confirm in advance. Unexpectedly, some stores do not provide this service (very few), and Tenkawaso is one of them! After arriving at Yudanaka Station, I called the boss and spent half a day (the boss's English was not good, and communication was more difficult). He drove to pick us up, and everything went smoothly. On the morning of the day we left, it was snowing heavily. We asked the boss to take us to the station, but he flatly refused, saying that they did not provide drop-off service (paying the taxi fare was not an option), and they did not help us call a taxi (it was difficult to get through on the phone, and they spoke Japanese). Later, we met a family of four Australian guests. They asked to be dropped off at the station one day in advance, but they were also refused (they said that the boss actually came to the station to pick us up, which was incredible). Later, they asked a Japanese friend to book a taxi, and they also thought the boss was mean! Finally, we could only carry our suitcases (the ground was covered with snow and we couldn't pull them), walked for 8 minutes to the bus station, waited for 25 minutes in the heavy snow (the bus was 20 minutes late), and rushed into the train at the last minute before the train started. The whole process was exciting and sad! I hope everyone can avoid this, or at least ask about the pick-up/drop-off service in advance. Most homestays don't have this problem, but it will be very troublesome if you encounter it!

⭐Geographical location:
Yudanaka Hot Spring is relatively close to Jigokudani Monuen, a 20-minute walk from the station. It should be noted that you can pick up the station before 5 pm. We arrived at 5:30, but the boss said we could not pick up. Although the distance is not long, it still takes a while to walk on the mountain road. You can also take a bus, which runs every half an hour.
⭐Service:
There are two shopkeepers serving you, and their attitude is very good. They will help you deliver your luggage to the coffee shop next to the station when you travel the next day. It should be noted that if you check in after 3 pm, you will not be able to make calls in the morning. I left something in the room. No one answered the phone after three calls. In the end, I had to go to the store to get it again.
⭐Facilities:
The room layout is relatively simple and the facilities are relatively simple. To be honest, the heating is relatively small and it is a bit cold at night. There is no shower room and toilet, and the sink only has cold water. Shower rooms and hot springs need to be charged separately, 500 yen. Public toilets (all small Japanese-style hotels are like this) are very clean, because there are few rooms and few guests, and you have never touched anyone else in the toilet. Anyway, the price/performance ratio is pretty good.
⭐Meals:
Our order included dinner and breakfast, but the portions were small and not enough to fill us up. When we got out of the station, we had to remember to buy some food from Lawson. There are no convenience stores in the hot spring street! Mineral water is not provided, and there is an additional charge of +100yen.
⭐Hot spring:
You can soak in 9 soups on the street, but there is only one key, so you have to go there separately. The private soup shop in the store is in B1. It is relatively simple, has a lot of moisture, and is not very clean. It is recommended to go to the public soup house. Although the boss said that there is no place to take a bath in the public bath, so you can only buy a private bath + shower, which is a bit embarrassing.

I am from Hong Kong, but I did not stay in this hotel. Originally I booked Villa Ichinose, but 3 days before departure I received an email from Villa Ichinose saying that due to a problem with the room's machinery, they would arrange to move me to another hotel called Mount Shiga. I stayed in a tatami room in that hotel and there were no chairs. After skiing all day, I had to sit on a mattress on the ground to rest. I need an extra pillow to make my lower back more comfortable. When I opened the door where the pillows and quilts were placed and took out a pillow, I was stunned. The pillow was dirty, full of saliva stains, yellow and moldy. I believe it hadn't been cleaned for at least a month to be so dirty and noticeable. Such sanitary conditions make me very uneasy. I took pictures of the pillow and room key to prove it. My main point is that the person in charge of Villa Ichinose should not have transferred me to a very old and unhygienic hotel. I can't comment on other aspects because I didn't stay there. But the location is very good, right next to the Ichinose bus stop, and the hotel environment is nice (because I was going to this hotel to pick up my snowboard bag, so I went in to take a look).

We came to Shiga Plateau for skiing, we have been to Yudanaka four times, and we have lived in 8 different homestays. Daimaru House is the best one:
A The boss's English is good, there is no problem with communication (the boss is not good);
B There is a bathroom in the room, which is very convenient (most of the bathrooms in the homestay are shared and inconvenient)
C In the hot spring town, eating is very convenient;
D Going out is the station, it is convenient to go skiing on the mountain;
E Indoor and outdoor hot springs are large and powerful;
F The boss is very nice and provides pick-up/send-off/go to snow monkey park service (this is very important in Tangtianzhong, some homestays do not provide it)
In a word, come to Shiga Plateau skiing, choose Daimaru House is right!

The host speaks good English and the communication is smooth. The room is big and heated, clean and hygienic. The private onsen is clean and opposite is Hatsu-no-Yu. It is a good experience to go out to the public onsen at night. It is snowing and you will not feel cold in yukata.
The host sent us to the station in the morning. Thank you very much. We spent a short but warm night in Yudanaka. I will recommend other friends to come here!
The host was great and easy to communicate with, speaking excellent English. The room was big, clean, and warm. The private onsen was nice and clean, and Hatsu-no-Yu was just across the street.
We loved soaking in the public onsen at night while it was snowing.feel super warm only wearing the yukata.
In the early morning, the host kindly drove us to the station. It was a short but lovely stay in Yudanaka. Highly recommend it to friends!

The price-performance ratio is good. The hotel has both open-air and indoor bathing pools. Men and women need to be separated, and they can be naked or not. The hotel includes a classic Japanese buffet breakfast. The rooms are tatami mats, so it won't be very cold. The overall facilities of the hotel are a bit old, after all. The age of hot spring hotels is here! It’s just like experiencing a Japanese-style hotel, it’s pretty good! Does the hotel provide free pick-up and drop-off? It is a hot spring park, but the check-out time is relatively early, and every employee is very enthusiastic. 2 nights is the most suitable!

The hostess of this store is very young and beautiful, with a smile! The temperament is very good 👌👍! I visited this ”Hot Spring Street” and it was indeed the price of this ”Ape” Youth Hostel! Attach the photo taken. One person is less than NT$1,000 a night! This hot spring hotel is really cheap! Loved the hotel! It’s old, yes, but clean and well maintained. The proprietors were also really sweet — when there was a large tour group in the dining hall, they offered to shift us to the lounge instead. Perfect location for ski in- ski out, and really delicious breakfast and dinners :) 10/10 would return!!

Unexpected Treasure Family Hotel .
Because I arrived at the hotel early, there was no one at the front desk, and there was an old grandfather who came out to receive the bell at the front desk. Because the time was early and I couldn't check in, I stored my luggage. The owner's grandmother drove me to the Snow Monkey Park. It's not very far from the snow monkey to the store on the return trip. If you don't want to go, you can take the bus down the mountain.
The day of check-in was New Year's Eve, and the stores in the hot spring town were almost resting. There are two supermarkets that bought fruit and beer to prepare to nest in the hotel. When you arrive at the hotel, you need to carry your luggage into the room. Because the elderly's legs and feet are not very convenient. The Japanese dinner of the day was very rich. Too much to eat. I ordered two bottles of wine for more than 100 yuan. Tangtianzhong is very cost-effective. Have the opportunity to come again.

Very Good
周周Stayed at this homestay for a few days during the Spring Festival and it feels really great. The proprietress is very very friendly. The rice is also delicious. The hot spring in the hotel is also great and very convenient. The location here is about an hour’s drive from the ski resort, and there is a shuttle bus every day, which is quite convenient.
The room is clean, warm and comfortable. Although it is a public restroom, I did not feel any inconvenience. My favorite is to go back to the hot springs for bathing after skiing every day.
LLONGFUIt’s the photos taken by mobile phones inside and outside the store. The small hotel run by the old couple is not far from the Yudanaka tram terminal. In the town of hot springs, it’s good to have a 24-hour hot spring bathhouse. The owner is very good. Gentle was able to personally drive us to the foot of the mountain in the Wild Monkey Park to see the monkeys washing in the hot springs. It is a lot more convenient for us. Shared toilets are the place I am least used to, but overall I am satisfied.
SSvetlana ZiminaWe really liked the hotel, it was very exotic for us, we swam in the onsen - it was magical, we slept on a futon for the first time in our lives - many thanks to the owners for their hospitality. Hello from St.Petersburg
GGuest UserIt was a weekday in the off-season, so we were almost entirely reserved, but we didn't skimp on dinner or breakfast, and it was very delicious.
The only thing I had to say was that the hot spring water was good, but the chairs in the washing area were very small...that was a bit disappointing.
