Perriman cottage is a rustic cottage only a 5 minute walk from the town centre. With bars, cafes, and a variety of restaurants close by, you needn't worry about who the designated driver will be after dinner and drinks!The cottage offers 3 bedrooms, one with a king sized bed and split system, one with a bunk (queen size bed on the bottom and king single on top), and one bedroom with a king single.The spaceNamed after the original title holder John Perriman, the cottage will please those who don't mind rustic charm. The original part of the house was built in 1864 and makes up the current kitchen and master bedroom. The front part was added around 1900. We have tried to keep as many of the original features as possible without modernising it too much. The timber wall paneling and timber lined ceilings are original, as well as the doors. The floorboards needed to be changed, however some salvageable ones from the original part of the house now make up the kitchen table and counter top. It's also worth highlighting that the bathtub contains some rust staining however it has been acid washed and is clean.The cottage is connected to NBN and guests have access to wi-fi and TV with Netflix, along with all digital channels. Please note that the indoor wood oven and open fireplace have been decommissioned as they longer function properly (they smoke the house up). The backyard is large with a firepit and paved area with a simple outdoor setting to enjoy al-fresco dining.What we love about this cottage is not only its 157 year history, but also the convenient location to all that makes the area great, the ability to see amazing stars at night, the large backyard space, and the crazy cockatoos! Kitchen facilities include fridge (with freezer), electric stove, microwave, coffee pod machine, toaster, kettle and a full array of cooking utensils and crockery. There is no oven. A deck / patio with outdoor setting and electric BBQ overlooks a lane of lavender and beautiful views across Doctor’s Gully.Linen and towels (1 towel provided per guest) provided.The ultra plush king size bed can be converted into twin share (2 x long singles) on request however 7 days notice is required and an extra fee of $30 applies.Included in your stay - bed linen, bath towels (1 per person), coffee pods, tea and UHT milk, olive oil spray, sugar, salt and pepper are also provided. The road is very private and only consists of five properties. There is private, off street parking.The property is situated 900 metres from the main centre of Daylesford - this is a 1-2 minute drive. Or if you prefer to walk into town it's only 10 minutes to everything you need! It is also only a 5 minute drive to the famous Hepburn Springs Bathhouse & Spa.Daylesford is about a 1.5 hour drive (115 km) from Melbourne. There is also a train from Melbourne to Daylesford (V-line).The property is self check in. An email will be sent to you prior to your confirmed stay with detailed directions to our cottage, access codes and further instructions. Unlimited WIFI.The cottage has a huge smart TV so you can enjoy your Netflix, Prime and Stan. Please use the special induction pans only. Note that the stove gets extremely hot! However it is not hot to the touch. Heat is conveyed to the special induction pan.• The controls respond to touch so you don’t need to apply any pressure.• Use the ball of your finger, not its tip.• You will hear a beep each time a touch is registered.• Make sure the controls are always clean, dry and that there are no objects (e.g. a utensil or a cloth) covering them. Even a thin layer of water may make the controls difficult to operate.Hot WaterPlease note that we have an environmentally friendly heat pump hot water unit. Please use hot water sparingly. If you use too much hot water and then try to fill the spa you may run out of hot water. Please just wait a little while and the hot water tank will refill.FirewoodWe supply enough fire wood for the average stay. Firewood is expensive and to keep our rates reasonable we can not supply wood for a constantly roaring fire.Should you wish to operate the fire constantly (all day or for multiple nights) you will need to provide your own wood.Should you require additional fire wood you can purchase in Daylesford at the petrol stations at your own cost.Deck chairThere is a lovely deck chair on the deck. Under the main king size bed you will find the long cushion for the deck chair. Please put the cushion back under the bed when you are finished with the cushion and before final departure.Security Camera- Please note we have an external security camera at the front of the cottage for security purposes.PetsWe are small pet friendly and welcome your little furry ones but please note there is a $50 pet fee per stay which is additional to the tariff and paid directly to the owners (not via Airbnb). Pets are not allowed on the bed or furniture so please ensure that you bring all pet beds and blankets. Any damage caused will be charged to the guests.
