Absolutely outstanding place, all the details, the logs for the fire in our room, the complimentary sherry. We had breakfast and our dinner here, lovely selection of breakfast and the pigeon starter & beef cheek was so tender and delicious. Really happy with our stay!

We’ve just returned from an amazing weekend stay at Augill Castle, and we can’t recommend it enough. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Wendy, who made us feel at home. Augill castle is quirky, relaxing, and peaceful. It felt “home from home” for us, where we could unwind and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. The food was outstanding – simple, delicious, and made with care. Every meal we had was good quality, home-cooked and excellent value for money. Thank you for making our stay so perfect - exactly what we needed!

To put it simply, our wedding day could not have been more perfect. We had been to Augill for afternoon tea on multiple occasions and the first time we visited we both said ‘Wouldn’t it be amazing to get married here’, and it was exactly that! From the moment we knew we wanted to get married at Augill Castle we felt like this was the only wedding in the world that mattered, and that is purely down to Wendy and the whole team. Every aspect of the day was tailored exactly how we wanted, and Wendy’s attention to detail, and genuine care made the whole experience seamless and stress-free. The castle is beautiful and a great place for a peaceful retreat. The rooms were stunning, with every room having it’s own quirks and character, and we loved being able to allocate each individual room to our loved ones. The wedding food was delicious with each course again being tailored to our preferences, and was presented beautifully – every guest was full by the end of the meal! The value for money is outstanding, especially considering the high level of service, the stunning venue, and the sheer effort put in by every single member of staff. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure our day was everything we hoped for and more. Since our wedding, multiple guests have told us this was the best wedding they had ever attended, which we think speaks for itself. We are so grateful to everyone at Augill and we’re already planning our next trip back!

We went for Christmas. We picked Augill pretty much with a pin because we thought it might be fun. It turned out one of the best Christmases we've had. I was nervous of sitting down to dinner with a roomful of strangers but Wendy somehow managed to make us feel we were guests at a country house party. Lovely people, excellent food and a wonderful atmosphere. Augill is an early example of the Victorian fashion for building fake castles and it is a particularly fine specimen. If you want a real castle, it's a short walk from the rather splendid Brough Castle, which is worth a visit. I really can't praise Augill enough. It's a fantastic place for a special holiday.

Attended a wedding which was excellent, the castle had real character and the evening meal and breakfast were first class. Bedrooms large and comfortable and very clean. The staff were very attentive throughout my stay, I would recommend Augil Castle
