Akrathos Beach Hotel

We had a wonderful stay at Akrathos Beach Hotel! The staff was warm and welcoming, and to our surprise, they upgraded our package to all-inclusive free of charge. The view was absolutely stunning, and we loved spending time by the pool and on the beautiful beach. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!

We had a nice holiday. The hotel is pretty much what it says on the tin. We were fortunate enough to be upgraded to a superior suite although it was a bit of hike to the accommodation at the top of the hill. The room was very nice and clean with 2 bathrooms. Being on the ground floor though it did feel like you were staying in an Olive grove and spoiled the view a bit but can’t complain as I’d booked the cheaper garden room and had been upgraded. There was Snake repellent in the gardens but didn’t see any. The hotel is set on a hillside with lovely views out to see and lots of fruit and olive trees all about. It was very tempting to pinch a few pomegranates bit didn’t. Nice pool area. The pool itself is 33mts long and quite deep. Perfect for swimming lengths. A bit cool but didn’t feel it when you got started. Lots of people are negative about the AI drinks and to be fair they are bang average for AI. Similar to other Greek 4 Star we have stayed in. The only real negative I can say is that The Restaurant has a bit of a Works Canteen feeling to it. The hotel is a bit remote. The nearest town is Ouranoupoli which is 1 and 3 quarter miles away not 2km. Well worth a visit. Lots of shops and restaurants and had a nice feel to it. Boats trips here as well. The road is not that dangerous and it’s easily walkable. We did it 3 times without issues and we are in our sixties. The nearest supermarket is here with good prices. The one in the hotel is mega expensive. If we come to this area again we would probably stay in the town as there are some lovely apartments there and close to amenities. All in all a good stay. Try to ignore the negative reviews everything is pretty good really.

The hotels position was as described- right on the sea and apart from Ouronopoli- with not lots to do nearby. We had a lovely and quiet holiday which was what we were hoping for. Overall the hotel was clean and the rooms well presented, although a little dated. The cleaning was a bit mixed and several times they did not knock! We had a beautiful view of the sea. The pool was clean but cold as it is not heated. It is a shame that Perspex screens interrupt the infinity effect and they are now quite cloudy which makes it worse. It was a good size pool. The biggest bugbear was the all inclusive. It certainly was not as good as other 4* hotels we have stayed in. Certainly having a small selection of included food at the beach bar would have been nice. We don’t drink - but we were not allowed a large glass of soft drink and had to order multiple small glasses ( which was a real waste of plastic in the pool and beach bar). The food overall was not bad - the salads were lovely but some of the buffet was poor quality at times. The ‘continental breakfast’ we ordered for an early departure was awful! The shop was handy. We went in low season so never had an issue with availability of sunbeds on the beach or by the pool. We had a nice time, but a few small changes would have made a big difference to our experience

Cons. Transfer takes 1.30hrs. The children pool no very clean as you can see by the photo. I would suggest that the alleged Lifeguard rather than sit at the bar all day he cleans it. unfortunately from the infinity pool you can't see the sea very well because the glass is dirty. PROS. Beautiful hotel. Gardens full of olive trees that are picked in November and make oil for the hotel. Also pomme granates that are also used for the hotel. There is a supermarket in the hotel. The hotel provides a bus service to the near village ten minutes away the charge is ten euros return per person.....but you can get a taxi for 7 euros each way for four people. Food very good and tasty plenty to suit every palate. Big thanks to Eduardo Antonia and the team for their hard work. Plenty of beer and wine etc Plenty of sun loungers by the pool and in the sandy beach and beautiful clear waters, but my favourite has to be ELENI the young bartender at the beach. She always smiles and very polite even when some rude clients wouldn't say please or thanks. Plenty of locals drinks if you want some international drinks you would have to pay. Very nice location. Yes I do recommend this hotel. Thanks to Panos the coach driver.

Amazing place, excellent and friendly staff. Room with good size with good views. I would like to congratulate Eduardo the manager for his excellent work and attitude. The restaurant has so many things to eat with variety. A friendly pool staff that is always available to serve us the last cocktail.

Outstanding experience! Nice, functional bedrooms, slept as hadn’t in years. Great food with lots of variety for all diets, the staff is so helpful, smiling and attentive. Eduardo, the manager is ever watchful, from breakfast to late at night, in all the different parts of the resort and even the beach, ensuring customers are satisfied and cared for. Cocktails of very good taste, and the all inclusive is very good in terms of quality/price. Definitely want to return to Akrathos!
