Marriott Grand Residence Club, Lake Tahoe – 1 to 3 Bedrooms & Pent

"Upon our arrival, we were immediately impressed when were able to check in well before the "written-in-stone" 4:00 check-in time. We were flabbergasted, for sure, as all the Marriott Vacation Club sites that we have visited have usually strictly adhered to that required 4:00 check-in time. We were quite pleased with our suite........enjoyed the two fireplaces in it. We found it to be very quiet, for the most part, too. Everything was well-cleaned and in proper working order. We were a bit disappointed that we had no washer/dryer combo in the room, but we were aware of that before we had booked. (We found the Laundry Room very easily and had the whole place to ourselves the morning we used it.) Many provided amenities/activities available....including a beautiful pool, Fitness Center, miniature golf, bungie trampoline, etc. The staff was friendly and very helpful in answering questions and recommending restaurant options, etc. The valet staff did an AMAZING job with dealing with the never-ending incoming/outgoing vehicles. A terrific location too! We were able to walk to most shops and restaurants during our stay. Hope to return here in the future!"

Postmarc Hotel and Spa Suites

"The room as advertised was not the same condition as the actual room. Upon arrival the room , it unexpectedly had mirrors on walls and ceiling which made it look larger. The actual room was quite a bit smaller, dated(signs of wear) and no desk of any kind."

Forest Suites Resort at the Heavenly Village

"Due to the star rating, the expectations were not too high, so there was no disappointment or surprise. The only problem was that the air conditioner was too noisy. It was cold when it was not turned on, but it was noisy and hot when it was turned on. There was a kitchen and you could cook something yourself. The exhaust in the bathroom was very noisy. Combined with the lighting, it was not good if it was not turned on. . Maybe it was because it was an old hotel."

Desolation Hotel

"The room is spacious, a studio-style room. It has all the necessary amenities except for laundry facilities. The amenities are also quite good. There are two drawbacks: 1. The hotel restaurant is very popular, and the noise level can sometimes disturb hotel guests. The noise from restaurant staff cleaning up after closing time is also considerable. 2. There are parking spaces on site, but they are all used for charging electric vehicles and are subject to a fee. A sign on the street next to the hotel says "Reserved Parking." However, the question remains: will the hotel take responsibility for protecting guests' belongings? What will the hotel do if a car is vandalized or stolen on the street?"

"Fantastic in every way! We stayed for one night with our newly adopted 10 year old dog. He loved it and so did we. Ben, one of the owners, who greeted us with his dog Kai was outstanding. They treat you like family. The property is an older motel, that I remember from when I was a child, that has been beautifully converted into an adorable, spotless B&B with all the modern conveniences. We stayed in The Moose Room which was great with two beds, one king and one queen, a fully stocked kitchenette with microwave, good size freezer/fridge and the bathroom was very nice, modern and spotless. The beds were very comfortable. They provide dog water & food bowls with a mat to put them on, a blanket for the bed, a towel to wipe paws if needed and dog treats! What more could Charlie ask for…oh, and he got lots of pets from the owners and fellow guests! The happy hour is lovely and it was fun to visit with our fellow delightful guests and Ben. They serve wine, cheese and crackers. There is also a full bar if you want a cocktail. The charge for the cocktails is reasonable. The breakfast is expansive with waffles with fresh berries and quite a few other toppings. A variety of breads, cereals, yogurt, hard boiled eggs and beverages. They have a gorgeous outdoor patio seating area where they roast S’Mores from 7-9pm. They rent paddle boards and have bikes. They main doggie relief area is great and there is a second area off to the side. There is a game room with ping pong and another similar game, a bookshelf full of board games and books and DVD’s. They also have a lovely sun room with a spa. This is a VERY pet friendly B&B but even if I didn’t have a dog, I would still stay at Fireside Lodge whenever I visit Lake Tahoe."

Americana Village

"The room is well designed, clean and tidy, the bed is comfortable, the surrounding environment is quiet, the room has a small kitchen with an electric stove, pot, etc., which is convenient for you to cook. The hotel is in a good location. There is a large chain supermarket within a 5-minute drive. There are restaurants, McDonald's, etc. nearby."
