Black River Inn Bed and Breakfast

Our experienxe couldn't have been any better. We loved everything about the B&B including the hosts. They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome! The breakfast was delightful. The chocolate chip cookies were THE BEST ever! We didn't want to leave because it was so relaxing. We recommend highly for everyone to experience this B&B. You will not be disappointed....we promise!

I have never written a review before. So many B&B’s/hotels/resorts/restaurants visited over the years probably deserved some feedback, good and bad. My wife and I ALWAYS bone up on trip adv reviews before we book. I’m pretty sure BlackRiver Inn had ALL excellent reviews. Have never seen that before. It intrigued us. How is that possible? We discovered how. We ordinarily want to get out, experience what the surrounding area offers. But here, it was hard to leave. The whole property is so well appointed, so comfortable. Everything about this place is authentic, especially the owners. Bob and Judine are perfect hosts. And the breakfasts are to die for. Picture your favorite eatery and favorite breakfast dish- this surpasses that. We would drive the nearly 2 hours just to indulge in Judines breakfast. The finest bakeries could not replicate her blueberry muffins! Could live at this place. They are located on the black river and a stones throw from the Kal-Haven trail. Kudos Bob and Judine. You have accomplished your goal as perfect hosts!

This is a true gem of a place. The owners Bob and Judine are gracious, kind, and welcoming. The rooms (we stayed in the St. Moritz) are spacious and well appointed. The food is excellent and it is served in a beautiful sun room. We'd recommend this room for any season. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed walking to the very close by Kal-Haven Trail. We highly recommend this B&B.

We were lucky to visit southeast Michigan as the leaves peaked and were lucky to find the perfect place to stay! After a ride through the woods, a golden yard greeted us, along with Judine and Bob welcoming us warmly. The first-floor room - St. Moritz - was so comfortable with the king bed. We toasted our toes as we turned the chairs to the fireplace! Each morning the full trees greeted us out the bay window. The dining room offered beautiful views of the trees and offered a quiet retreat after a busy weekend. Best were our three breakfasts! Daily, Judine offered eggs, meat and a sweet treat, along with juices and Bob's delicious coffee. Over breakfast we chatted with them like old friends. Such a special time. They offered just the right amount of pampering, attention and care, and were so enjoyable! The inn is spotless, comfortable and beautiful. We will be back!

Greeted with warm welcoming smiles, Bob and Judine are the perfect hosts. We visited as if old friends re-aquainting after time spent apart. Our first stay in any B&B, this was a fabulous choice. We're already planning a return visit! If you're looking for peace and tranquility from a hectic grind, a sanctuary to release life's tension and stress, you've found it. Off the beaten path, but not too remote, Black River Inn (B&B) is a must stay. The two other couples that shared our weekend (Tim and Jan, John and Katie) were great, we'll miss catching up on everyone's excursions! I'll especially miss Tim's weather forecasts!!! Judine's culinary skills will have you anticipating breakfast the night before and if you leave hungry, it's your own fault! Bob never let my coffee cup run dry..like I said, they are the perfect hosts. Our room (The Lake Placid), was immaculate, quiet and very cozy. The spa/jacuzzi tub really helped to relax us too. We loved the Black River Inn! The hosts are so gracious and truly make it feel like a home away from home. And, the breakfast was fantastic. This B&B has all the small touches that truly make a weekend getaway special. Highly recommend!
