We held our wedding ceremony & reception at Downham Hall at the end of June and the team there really helped to make the day special for us! The venue itself is stunning and has the loveliest of views all around. The food was amazing and we had so many compliments from guests - we’ve had people still mentioning the quality of the food weeks later! Debra, Christina, Ben, Andy & the rest of the team really were wonderful in the lead up to & on the day. We’re so grateful for all of their help! We had multiple guests describe it as the ‘perfect wedding venue’ and we couldn’t agree more. Thank you for helping to make our wedding day unforgettable!

There were a lot of really good aspects to our stay - for example, the food was great. However, the outstanding thing, making everything really good, was the customer service - Andrew was just about always there, worked hard very long hours to make our stay as good as it possibly could be given our specific requirements; particularly with food. We were very very happy with our stay and hope to come back again.

We have been lucky enough to go back to Downham Hall twice this week. First for the Santa dinner eve which was lovely. Roast Turkey Dinner and Christmas pudding were both delicious. Then today had a lovely brunch with all the family. Food delicious service very good staff all helpful and polite. Would def recommend here it's a lovely place. Look forward to our next visit.

We had a warm welcome and made to feel like we had never been away. Food and drink was top quality and the flavors amazing. Compliments to the chef. Such a comfortable cozy setting and service was spot on as usual. Thank you for a great night. We will be back.

We ran an event in their Marquee for 86 people. Food choices were incredible and the quality was superb. Took a lot of organising and the staff from top to bottom were 1st class. So friendly at professional. Not just on the night but on the build up to it. Highly recommended. Also been there for Afternoon Tea which was excellent value. In fact just booked again. Thank you Christina and all your staff especially Debra,Ben and Andy.

When I originally enquired about afternoon tea at Downham Hall, I had a lot of accessible requirements. They were extremely accommodating. The afternoon tea itself was really lovely. Nice fresh sarnies with lovely fillings. The scones are really nice. The cakes were just right - not full of cream! Thank you for looking after us. We had a fantastic time. The prosecco went down well too!!

We visited here last month for afternoon tea which was absolutely lovely. We couldn’t fault it except that there was no one there to show us where to go on arrival so we were stood there like part of the furniture. Well this time we booked afternoon lunch but yet again there was no one there to show us or even guide us to a table. After some faffing around we were eventually guided to a table. Granted it was a really hot day but it wasn’t busy. Eventually after 40 mins we were served a drink and nearly an hour later we finally got our food. The food was a let down to be honest. We both chose chicken shish but the chicken was thigh (the cheapest cut you can get) full of fat when it should really have been fillet. Overall not a great experience but we’ll give it one more try. It could be such a top notch venue if only they got it right. It’s all small things that need attention but those things will make the difference between average and really good. Tables not cleared, chairs strewn all over the place. Areas cordoned off that were clearly done with and a messy sofa that looked like it had just had a party on it from the night before not to mention litter all around it. Hopefully it’ll be better when we go next time, I pray that it is.

We had used this place several times for dinner with the family and always found it very good. This was the first time we stayed for 2 nights and would recommend it any time. The rooms were a good size, and quiet in the night. The beds vere very comfortable. We will certainly be back.
