Grand Hotel Aminta

We had a great experience at this hotel. It is located just outside of downtown Sorrento so it is a longer walk up hill to the hotel but they have a free shuttle service that runs every hour. The views are terrific which is where this hotel shines. There is also a pool and hot tub but the hot tub did not have enough solar power to operate during our stay.

Great hotel, only issue is the shuttle is never on time and to get from the hotel to main town in the middle of summer was a chore in itself, hotel staff were great and pool and views were great

Absolutely amazing hotel, the staff were very helpful and attentive. Our room had a view of the sea, mountains and in the distance Mount Vesuvius. Two double beds, very comfy. Hotel shuttle bus ran every 30mins or so drop off and pick up points were very clear. We had dinner at the hotel on the first night couldn't fault it at all. Portions were the right size and desserts yum. Room service was also good. Sandwiches and chips that's what you need after a day of walking and sightseeing. Drinks bar always full and the bar tenders happy to supply any drink you ask for even a straight monkey gin! We stayed 4 nights it was perfect. Definitely recommend.

Great location up overlooking Sorrento. About a 10 min drive to city center. There is a free hotel shuttle (which is a varying personal vehicle, it is not SITA public shuttle ($2 EU) we made that mistake as both pick/up drop off at shuttle sign locations. The shuttle car usually has a sign in the front window and runs basically every hour. They are prompt and at times a few minutes early. You can also walk (we didn’t) on a nice pathway and is @ 25 min to city center. Being up in a hill it was VERY windy sitting out on the room balcony in November, but still lovely. The property is beautiful with very professional bar and food service. Great selection of wines and the restaurant menu has a wonderful selection. Restaurant prices surprised me being much lower than I’d expected also. Food presentation was also spot on and everything was delicious. We left early one morning to our tour of Pompeii and the front desk prepared a box breakfast of muffins, apples and fruit drinks for us to take which was an unexpected treat. The gym is small and only open between @ 8am and 6:30pm. You must reserve the gym for only an hour at a time and in advance which was rather inconvenient but we made due. The beds were comfortable and have smart TV’s with Netflix, Prime and many other streaming services available which we found was not the case in many other hotels where we stayed. As an American who does not speak Italian this is nice. I recommend Aminta as a wonderful place to stay in Sorrento if you like to be away from the crowds below and do not mind walking or shuttling into town. I would stay again.

Excellent location,looks stunning,friendly & helpful staff all the time.Cleanliness of the room could be improved ,the room was a decent size. In my opinion the food was a bit pricey for what was served,we,ate once in the evening with the food served almost cold,lunch time was much better & a nice selection to choose from. You do need to use the free courtesy bus as there are many better food options in the town centre.

We got a free upgrade from the Annex to a room with a balcony and the view across the bay of naples was amazing.We had a problem with our room door not closing properly and it was fixed within hours (very happy). The free bus to and from Sorrento was very reliable. The food in the resturant was excellent as was the service. The Breeakfast was far better than expected and the staff acroos the hotel were great. I especially feel that the staff in the resturant and at breakfast were very attentive and pleasant which made our stay that little bit more special.We had a wonderful holiday and The Grand Hotel Aminta played a major role in it. If we come to Sorrento again we will be staying here again.
