We loved this family run hotel nestled like a secret you yearn to discover in a sleepy village on the edge of nowhere in particular other than nameless orchards of almonds, dusty hillsides and cute dogs with saggy tails. And then there is the delicious food and the owners come chefs - Clayton and his wife who are full of caring ideas for interesting places to visit and have a real sense of humour.

An extremely pleasant hotel with fantastic food to enjoy and ideally situated for a fantastic walking holiday in the hills. There’s nothing better after a good days walking in the hills than enjoying one of the delicious pizzas or slow cooked dishes from the wood fired oven before walking upstairs to drift off to a goods night sleep.

What a find , this is a gem of a place! we would return in a heartbeat. ! We booked to stay as a family of 3 and had the most incredible stay at this stunning boutique hotel. Our family room was beautifully decorated, spacious and provided super air con with a fabulous balcony overlooking stunning views. Every part of the hotel is a feast for the eyes, superbly decorated with quirky/modern and traditional local pieces. The pool and jacuzzi were fantastic to relax/unwind and rest from the heat. Hosts Rachel and Clay are just brilliant! , warm and welcoming from start to finish. They have excellent local knowledge of the area which was so useful. The food is amazing and brilliant wine choice! Every day we looked forward to breakfast, a delight in the charming oasis outside. Amongst other delightful meals, the wood fired pizza was a triumph, only wish we could have eaten more! How will pizza ever taste the same again !We will be back for sure, thank you Rachel and Clay.

We had a lovely 2 night stay for my wife's birthday. Rachel and Clay were warm and friendly hosts and looked after us really well. Our room was full of character and was spacious and the hotel is ideal if you want to relax and get away from it all.

We went for 2 nights for my birthday and had a very relaxing time. Rachel and Clay were warm, friendly and accommodating hosts and couldn't do enough for us, including arranging a cake and cava on my birthday. The hotel and grounds are gorgeous and the food cooked by Clay was excellent. We would definitely go back to celebrate a special occasion and would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to chill out for a while.

A stunningly beautiful authentic and artistic family run hotel that offers wonderful service. The menu has a wide ranging choice, offering real attention to flavours, smells and presentation. Clayton and Rachel could not have been better hosts and their intimate knowledge of the region was paramount in helping us know where to visit. Really important, it is very obvious that they live and breathe the hotel, guests and quality. We will definitely be returning!

A wonderful peaceful haven. Very helpful and friendly owners. Every need met as soon as you walk through the door. Food excellent. Had a chilled afternoon in the pool and jacuzzi. Would highly recommend.

Stayed here as an alternative to the standard trackday accommodation, what a great little find. 25 mins from the track. Driving to the hotel from Sorbas we only saw 1 or 2 cars which set the setting for the place. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff and owners. Even to the point of organising breakfast around track start times, and if it wasn't on the menu and you wanted it, if they would do it (obviously if they had it) Amanda was amazing as the chef, great presentation and quality food (the ribs were amazing). Clayton and Sarah were great hosts, again nothing was too much trouble. No Tv in the room which wasn't an issue as the whole point was to chillax after a day at the track. Bar is well stocked if required, however if you want to carry on the motion after a few beers then maybe a bigger setting is required. over all, great food, great staff, and a great place to unwind

Very warm welcome from owner, and clean, modern, fresh room. If you can not spend the night, then it is worth dining at the restaurant for anything coming out of the wood fired oven. Great time spent, good wine, and highly recommended.

Great place to stay We we’re touring on our motorcycle and rode some brilliant routes in the area smooth tarmac no traffic beautiful views in the mountains Ideal if you doing the local tracks Andalusia or Almeria The hotel is situated in a quiet village The hosts Clay and Rachel couldn’t do enough for us Marvellous food reasonably priced delicious breakfasts we stayed an extra 2 nights it was so nice Will definitely stay again

Casona Granado is a very friendly place to visit. The staff, Amanda, Rachel and Clay are very accommodating and like old friends. the food was very good. We stayed 3 nights and had pizza (home-made of course), ribs, cazuela of cod in tomato sauce and Teriyaki Salmon. Everything was lovely. The veg in the Teriyaki sauce was a bit sweet for me but that's me. I had celebrated my 70th birthday there and Rachel decorated our table and the part of the room we were dining in lovely. The room we stayed in overlooked the garden area to the side and was nicely decorated. The only downside, if you can call it that, was I am only 5'2" so had difficulty using the mirror in the room but the bathroom contained plenty of mirror space. Another down (sorry) was that the hot water wasn't constant. One evening we had hot water and another it was only just beyond aired. Couldn't work out why? we were only there 3 nights so didn't bother to say. It could have been due to solar water heating which can be a bit up and down (we have it in our home in Spain). We had use of the hotel's garden hot tub which could have done with a rail to get in and out as it was sunken from the decking and being on the short side had a bit of difficulty using it. I put that down to experience. We had fluffy towelling bathrobes to use which was a nice gesture. All in all, we had a lovely stay and would recommend anyone who wants a relaxing time away from home and the hustle and bustle to book a short break here.

We enjoyed our 4 night stay at Casona Granado very much. Clay, Rachel and Amanda make excellent hosts - my wife said it was like staying with friends. Room great and meals excellent - couldn't fault it if we tried. Small swimming pool is just right for a dip with a view after a day out. Lots of nice places to explore nearby. Lots of info available from the team, including local walks - one thing we enjoyed was a short walk out of the front door through the countryside featuring olive groves and almond trees, with beautiful mountain views. You can explore in lots of directions from this base and it is only 50 minutes by car from the beautiful beach at Agua Amarga. We plan to return.

What a lovely place and people! Rachel, Clay and Amanda, thank you very much for the lovely care and nice talks. We felt very welcome and relaxed during and after the stay. Great breakfast and dinner, every time! A nice menu-cart and cosey rooms with good cleaning (thank you Susan!). We’ve had a great, relaxing holiday and are refueled with energy for our soon to be born daughter! P.s. they are also very helpful with planning local trips :)
