It was not easy to book a room on Christmas Eve. We were given a room on the 7th floor with a great view and a bottle of sparkling wine. The semi-buffet dinner and breakfast were also available. I was surprised to be charged JPY300/pax as tax for the use of onsen. I believe this is a local municipal tax on the onsen use, regardless if you use the onsen or not. The dinner was AMAZING! You get a chef prepared meal AND a buffet which is extensive! Loved the dinner a lot! The following day's breakfast was ok - pales in comparison with the dinner (of course).

In room onsen which filled with hot spring water within 15min. Relaxing with a view of lake toya. Had buffet dinner and breakfast, food was average. The room had a coffee grinder which we didn’t use as it looks dirty. At night, there was fireworks right outside the balcony.
