The villa room was small but beautifully furnished and the beds were very comfortable. The toilet floors had heating which was great. The aesthetic complemented that of skagen. The staff were friendly and the range of breakfast was also much appreciated. The centre is also right next door and it is a few minutes walk from the harbour with lovely restaurants. However, because the room was small, there was little space besides the bed and a small dressing table. It would have been nice to have a chair or stool to sit on (the bed was the other alternative but when you are dusted in sand or perspiration you want to avoid the bed). I could make do with the ledges by the window, but there was also little space for the luggage. There was also no dustbin in the room, and it was right next to the carpark which made it a little too close for comfort with a car parked right outside the window. I felt like the blinds had to be drawn because of it. Another disappointing episode was that housekeeping missed out cleaning up the room. When I returned at 3pm and found the room not made, the reception assured me that the staff were still doing their rounds, and would eventually come by. With that assurance I left the room and returned at close to 7pm and found the room not done. When I informed reception, I was told the staff had left. The lady at reception helped to do a quick vacuum of the room and cleared the trash, but it affected the overall quality of stay, especially given the size of the room and the lack of a bin. I understand that the villa is fairly new so perhaps more attention needs to be paid to the quality of stay. Nonetheless thank you for the warm welcome to beautiful skagen!
