Grand Hôtel du Cours

We had a stopover on our return journey from South of France to UK in Sisteron to visit the Citadel. The Hotel is a lovely old traditional building and we were greeted warmly by the receptionist. He took my bag and led me into the hotel. Our room was delightful with an amazing view of the citadel. We had dinner in the restaurant and again the staff were very friendly and we had a super meal. The next morning we had a delicious breakfast with eggs, sausage and cheese. There was fruit salad, apple purée and yogurts and the traditional French bread, cakes and pastries. The French bread was so fresh. We had a problem with the shower but as soon as I mentioned it the receptionist had it fixed. We stayed two nights and ate in the restaurant both nights. The food was really excellent and good value. A great experience and we recommend the hotel. We often drive to the south if France for a holiday but have not stopped at Sisteron before. We will definitely stay at this hotel in the future. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

We made a last minute reservation and upon arriving, were given a suite instead of a room for 4, which suited us better ( and for the same price). It was OK as far as comfort goes, for one night but the pillows were too hard, the TV tiny, the couch uncomfortable. The bathroom was good and storage space ideal. The welcome and personnel were excellent, as well as the location. Easy free parking within a short walk, or the hotel’s garage. Their restaurant was good with a varied menu and the breakfast buffet, correct. If in Sisteron, we would definitely recommend staying here.

Hôtel traditionnel comme on n’en fait plus : équipe adorable, serviable, généreuse. Espaces communs agréables. Excellent restaurant de spécialités locales. Une des meilleures étapes de la région à prix très doux et Sisteron est une petite ville qui mérite le détour, à la différence de Dignes que nous avons trouvée bien désagréable.

Très agréable de renouer avec la tradition hôtelière. Un emplacement idéal et une équipe aux petits soins. Le restaurant offre un grand choix pour des prix très raisonnables. Une étape incontournable pour visiter la citadelle.

Accueil sympathique et avenant. Chambre simple et vue un peu banale mais tout le confort nécessaire. Je recommande. Très bien situé avec un restaurant dont la carte est prometteuse. Très bon moment à redécouvrir en famille la prochaine fois
