Green bursa is one of the cleanest hotels I've been to on my 2 month long trip. The cleaners go out of their way to ensure the room is clean and tidy (even organising things like my shampoo on the bathroom rack, aligning items to be parallel with the desk, etc). All very much appreciated. The only downside that a friend noted, is there are those little cocoon or grey bug things on the walls (they're all over SE Asia). They don't do anything and I don't mind them but something to note. I didn't find the chance to use the pool but it looked clean and was a decent temperature (not heated). The pool table is an awesome amenity and maintained quite well.
For people who don't like lizards or frogs you may not have the best time. There are quite a few small geckos climbing on the walls or ceiling and we saw a frog hopping along. I personally loved the little geckos and the frog. They come out at night and it's quite the treat to watch them run around. The rooms are mosquito free (unless you bring some in with you). I recommend carrying some DEET containing bug repellant but that's a recommendation for travels all across Asia.
There is a bar, a small kitchen, and a fridge with beers, soft drinks and water. All is very reasonably priced (as in same cost to buy at green bursa or at another restaurant/bar/etc). If you don't want to dine in or go out it's super easy to order on Grab and the staff will help your driver locate your room. The staff don't expect any tips for helping out (however you may feel inclined to tip if you would like).
The location is a good middle ground between the touristy areas near pub street and Angkor Wat and surrounding temples. A tuk tuk to either only runs about 1 USD (if I remember correctly). And order tuk tuk's via Grab to ensure tourist prices don't become an expectation of locals (I forget the term but we don't want to out price locals). Again you can tip if you would like but there is no expectation. I would recommend hiring a bike, scooter or e bike as its super convenient to whip around town. There is a proper supermarket down the road and if you're a westerner missing home, that supermarket will cure any home sickness you may have.
The service is fantastic and the staff are overwhelmingly kind. Most of them know a great amount of English, and all will go out of their way to help you. No matter how big or small a request is they will help. Also they are lovely people who like to chat and have fun. The staff do have accents, but so does every tourist. I am not sure what some people are expecting, but I might as well inform. My friend and I played 2v2 pool against Sour and Boss (I forget her name (sorry!) but she was the boss to my understanding). They brought out some snacks and fresh dragonfruit as a treat. Genuinely some of the friendliest and nicest people I've met on the trip.
The amenities are fantastic, and there are communal areas outside each set of 2-3 hotel rooms (we didn't use this but I can see how it would be a super nice way to meet new people or host a lunch or something).
The major one gripe is NO HOT WATER. There is cold and slightly less cold. This may have been a room specific room but we never checked as we decided to toughen up and enjoy a cold shower xD.
Overall great value, great staff, great location, great amenities. 10/10 (minus a little for cold shower)
