Side Golden Rock Hotel 16+ Adults Only - All Inclusive

On arrival the welcome we received was ok. We arrived later than expected and had missed the evening meal, but 4 tiny dry bread rolls with cheese had been left in the room. Twin beds would have been preferable , but the room had a double bed that was so hard that my daughter and I suffered awful back problems each day. We soon found that the constant drone of Rap music all day around the pool became very draining, this and the poor quality of the food and drinks and the lack of entertainment made us both feel very miserable. We were really looking forward to going home. Whilst the cleaning lady was lovely, we only received shampoo/soap etc on the first day, which had to last 10 days. 2 sachets of coffee in 10 days, but clean towels were left most days, although one day we had none. To be fair after all of this had been discussed with the manager the music around the pool became softer, which created a more relaxed vibe. The food became more varied and more choice was available. Staff seemed more welcoming and happier in their work. We felt more relaxed and by the end of the 10 days we were sorry to be leaving. I very much respect the way that the hotel is run. Trying to reduce waste and being environmentally friendly is admirable, but people are paying to stay and enjoy their holiday, so a better variation in drinks would certainly be helpful, especially for those that don’t drink alcohol as warm bottled water becomes monotonous . But fair play to the staff for the effort made during my stay there. I hope the same level of customer commitment is maintained well into the future. I am sure this hotel will be popular if high standards are continued. This hotel is for adults only. Don’t go there expected disco and entertainment every night, this hotel is about relaxing and letting all the stress go. Also note you will need to pay for use of the internet and this is per person.

The hotel is nice. It's more for those looking for peace and quiet. All the services are absolutely fine. The rooms are clean, the food is good. The hotel has its own beach, about ten minutes walk. Gym, hairdresser, massage. Friendly hotel staff. I was fully satisfied.

I have spent a week in this fine hotel and enjoyed it very much. Room: spacious, complete and cleaned every day. The beds have firm matrasses, which I like. Restaurant: good meals, a lot of Turkish specialties, great saladbar, drinks served at your table. Swimming pool: clean and spacious. Having it's own bar for drinks and snacks. Staff: very friendly, Ismael, Resul and Mustafa are the most friendly and service minded people. Big compliments! Location: a few hundred meters from the boulevard, which strechtes out for about 5 km, so your evening walk keeps you in shape ;-) Will I come back here? No, because I never ever go to the same place on holidays, but I would highly recommend this hotel for everyone looking for a fine experience in Side Turkey!

I visited the golden rock side hotel. The staff are all very hardworking. The staff in restaurant and bar go out of their way to serve you. The food is very limited for breakfast they need to add more variety add yoghurts and have a bread toaster machine as they did not have this. Lunchtime food is very limited they need to have more hot dishes as they have around 20 salads and only 4 hot dishes. Dinner they have a grill which is very good. The fruit is very limited the hotel didn’t even have bananas. There needs to be a variety. The rooms are very clean. They didn’t have any entertainment at night. If the hotel has this it will make this hotel very good. Reception staff are very nice. Bojar was very kind and helpful. I had a great stay in this hotel and was very close to the beach. The snack bar was closed and didn’t open until 4 days before I was coming home. The hotel need to offer snacks like burgers, fries, pizza and do an afternoon tea with sweets and cakes. This was a 4 star hotel but all these minor improvements would make it better. I was disappointed at the beach you only get a sun bed and drinks you need to purchase even if you are all inclusive. If they could offer drinks at the beach and food this would be a benefit as other hotels offered this as part of all inclusive. It was far too hot to sunbathe at pool. They didn’t offer crisps or peanuts at bar there was only drinks. The music from neighbouring hotels was very loud. The stage was just outside my room on first floor. So you could hear music until midnight. I guess I’m used to staying in 5 star hotels. Overall had a really nice time.

The staff were amazing and very helpful and the hotel was very clean, but there wasn't anything else to praise. The food was mostly the same every day, with just an addition of a couple of hot meals, so very boring. The worst thing was the noise. The music started outside the hotel at around 10am and didn't stop until midnight. It was very loud and even though people asked for it to be turned down it was turned back up again within minutes. It was too loud to read a book or to sleep, so if you want to go to bed before midnight at this hotel, forget it. The worse thing about the music is that there is nowhere in the hotel that you can get away from it. The only place to go are the dining room , the pool and your room. Everywhere you go you get the bass thump thump thump. I only tried the spa once and that was to have my hair done and although I explained to the girl what I wanted, she did something completely different and it looked awful. This is probably the worst hotel that I have ever been to and I have travelled a lot.

There are some great features at this hotel, lovely dining room, food was good, great service from bar and restaurant staff, spotlessly clean throughout, good sized pool, but I am afraid there were some less appealing aspects… between 10 am and 6 pm, there was constant loud music round the pool with a playlist more suited to a night club in Ibiza, lots of rap … everything boom boom with a heavy bass. No chance of a siesta in the sun or in your room if you are close to the bar. No parasols around tables at the bar. Being cynical I might ask is the lack of shade and boom boom music designed to drive people away from the hotel. limited English spoken so if you have a problem hard to be understood. On arrival at 1 am there was a plate of meat and cheese and dry bread in your room … this counted as one of your seven evening meals . Who wants a meal at 1 am? so if you are checking out with a late departure, you don’t get an evening meal as part of your holiday. Courtesy rooms are not available for those checking out late, though the spa showers can be used. Big deal, where do you plug in your hairdryer?!?all inclusive food and alcohol ends at 2.30 pm on day of departure. You can book a late check out 30 euros buys you a late afternoon checkout but 40 euros for a checkout till departure and your evening meal. Information seemed to fluctuate, the use of the safe is an extra charge. There is a private beach but the use is not monitored so anyone could use it … but it is a good five minute walk back to the hotel as he hotel itself has no beach bar. There was entertainment on one evening which was … quite frankly more suited to a nursing home. The all inclusive bar closes at 11.30 pm prompt with the Night Manager looking out of the window to see that it does close promptly …overall I felt the hotel lacked any soul and that customers were not valued, they were perceived as profit reducers, I felt the overall approach was petty and penny pinching by the management. You have probably guessed that I would not return. I am sorry to give a three star rating because the operations staff were lovely and they were definitely five star.

Absolutely 5 star all day long from arrival to leaving quality is second to no or first time in turkey me & my wife like attention to detail this place has just been built & everything is brand new rooms are high standard so contemporary in England you would say 5 star don’t look any further if you and your partner like piece quality friendly & very safe place enjoy

I shall never return I went to this hotel with Friendship Travel thy are a fab travel company for the solo traveller. The hotel rooms are great, the strength is the staff, in the restaurant they couldn't do enough for you Selma who worked on the egg station did the most amazing omelettes, the main meals like lunch and the evening meal were ok not4 star. There was fish served only once in the evening, I have a lot better at my local greasy spoon café. The bar which was located at the pool area was not a bar it looked like a garage where you put tour car in over night, the choice of drinks was very poor you could have vodka ,gin , or raki which were local served in miniature bottles, the cocktails were rubbish I asked for a Harvey Wallbanger the bar man said what is that, there was Turkish beer on Tap and soft drinks. On the beach front there were bars and restaurants which served a variety of good food and entertainment. The hotel had a Turkish night on the Friday night that was a joke, in fact the entertainment a joke. I could go on but I don't think there is enough room on here. I shall never go back to this hotel, and those thinking about it don't go.

This hotel has a lot to improve on, and this was the general consensus of everyone in my group and other fellow travellers! The strength of this hotel is the restaurant and bar staff, which are so hard working, very pleasant, and go out of their way for you. Selma makes the most beautiful omelettes and other egg dishes! The food was not of 4 star quality. However, it was fresh, but it was a all a bit samey and I only saw a fish dish once! I have honestly had much better food in other 3 stars let alone 4 stars hotels. The rooms are nice and modern with decent sized balconies. The real let down was the bar, which is located around the pool but It is just a makeshift cheap setup with no optics and very little choice. They only serve local spirits that are in little miniature bottles. No flavoured gins. The gin and tonics are not even served in gin glasses, and the cocktails are very cheap amateur ones. There is no prosecco, or even any tyow Brandy available and this is supposed to be 4 star! We had to go out several times for a decent drink. There is evening entertainment available, however only once per week. The spa treatments are of good quality but as other reviewers have mentioned, the spa manager comes to you and does this bizarre "hard sell" at the end of every treatment! This became a real talking point and actually purposely stopped me booking another treatment. He does not need to do this as the treatments are all very good and competitive value for money. The hotel is in a good location with achoice of bars and restaurants (up a hill) or on the beach front. However, I will not be returning here!
