Side Square Hotel

Our second time here in two years, our daughter and son in laws third time. Improving year on year. Food always enough variety and always served with a smile. Manager is always available for a chat or for questions. This year the hotels beach area has vastly improved. Their own beach bar with all inclusive soft drinks. Loads more sun beds and a shuttle bus right to the ramp to bar, toilets and shower. This year we did without hire car. So used the dolmus to do the river and waterfalls tour. This costing 14 € not 30 odd. We did the local Novamall, large indoor air-conditioning shopping centre for just 120 tl £3. The hotel sell ice cream but so do McDonald's next door, similar price, over the road you can get a walls ice lolly for 5tl, just 12.5p. The shopping centre was OK, but man with novelty ice cream maker wanted 7€ I went Megros and got ours for 90tl for two. The location of the hotel is amazing. You can get a dolmus anywhere off the roundabout. Main bus station is 10mins walk for a 60 year old. There are taxis sat outside hotel constantly 350tl to old town. 30mins walk. Impressive ruins all the way. Great place to come.

We came to side square hotel for my friends birthday, the standard of hospitality was amazing. We had some issues with the company we booked the trip with, but the hotel was so accommodating to our issue and the level of care was amazing from higher staff and the owner. Iv never visited a hotel where the owner is so hands on and accommodating of guests. It was a beautiful hotel, with beautiful rooms and great staff. Will definitely be coming back, don’t think i will forget the amazing care and service I received from staff such as Sahin and okan not to forget the incredible guest service from Ferhat himself. Definitely recommend honestly

This one star is for Ahmet as he was 10/10 amazing & worked so hard. He singlehandedly deals with collecting pool drinks orders and serving the drinks whilst trying to help in the restaurant without stopping for breath - A true gent. Moving on… 5 night stay here - food was abysmal. No taste, no seasoning, no idea what half of it was. Fruit looked off most of the time & desserts still frozen or stale leftovers. The general consensus from those around us seemed the same - nobody knew what anything was and appeared repulsed when they opened containers to look in. Thankful for the McDonald’s across the road as you could stipulate what this was. The morning of my last day was spent on the toilet after eating the food in the hotel. I used the security safe in my room and after 2 days could no longer open it with the code I had chosen. I went to reception advising that this was an urgent matter as I needed my passport that morning- no urgency taken & I was told you have to pay 2€ a day to use this. Why put it in the room then? I have never come across something this ridiculous in my life & it caused a MASSIVE amount of stress. The information leaflet given on arrival advises that RECEPTION have a safe that costs 2€ a day to use, but no mention of the safe in the room accruing a cost. I spoke to other guests during my time at the hotel who were using their safe without paying. TV in mum’s room was not working for the whole stay (we were made aware at the end of the stay that a vital part had been missing & they were awaiting delivery - amazing communication again) and on closing my shower doors, they came off the runners slightly. I’ll get to the shower later… Rooms not cleaned/checked daily so prepare to run out of toilet paper/water. Staff appear terrified of the restaurant/beverage manager who strolls around in the blue shirt, grey trousers with grey hair on his phone 24/7. I personally tried to request a drink from him at dinner one evening and he continued to polish his cutlery at the bar on his phone, ignoring me - people skills are second to none with this guy. He told his staff not to serve us Brits any alcohol on one night due to an apparent argument between 1 set of British guests the night before - tarred us all with the same brush. This was madness considering we are all inclusive guests & German guests were still served - they arrived after us at the bar - we were being deliberately ignored. Any time we laughed or spoke in the bar he came charging around the corner to tell us to stop and at one point tried to tell us we had to go to bed like 5 year olds. However, when there is genuine noise/music all night long/ people arguing this is not addressed. I will add that We were not drunk as he wouldn’t let us drink 🤣🤣. There are very few positives unfortunately- you can’t guarantee that the staff in restaurant will bother to offer you a drink with your meal. Friend booked this hotel, on my behalf, initially I was sceptical due to low price and mixed reviews. From the moment I arrived where we were greeted by a lovely check in young lady that had been there a month, my room was great and considering I have been Side on 3 previous occasions, all at the big 5 star super hotels so there is a compliment.! Breakfast, plenty for all they don't do the bake beans and bacon type of meal, but eggs anyway you want , fruit, cheese etc. Lunches, these are also good always limiting on choice but all tasty, there a burger and chips and kebabs by the pool throughout the day. Evening meals, again like the above, but I choose to eat out locally great restaurants very inexpensive. Ahmet worked the restaurant and pool area what a asset he is to this hotel, overall. Most staff are accommodating. Location is great. So I don't get the negative reviews, " they say you get what you pay for " well you Most certainly get more than you pay for. Highly recommend this hotel if your looking for a quiet, very clean accommodation in the heart of it all.

Very nice and clean hotel. Great location. We had no noise pollution. The room was spacious. The staff was very nice and friendly. They were very helpful. Ahmed is someone who has a smile on his face every day and will always ask you if he can do anything for you. A true example of a good employee. We had a good time. Thank you

Absolutely beautiful hotel, friendly and welcoming staff, the hotel was very clean and hygienic! Pool was very clean, food surface was clean, receptionist was all friendly and spoke good English! The hotel had transfer from the hotel to beach and also from the beach to the hotel! You could even walk it, 10-15 minutes walk! Cutlery was clean! Glasses and cups were clean! Hotel rooms were beautiful, clean, and well presented to the guest! Staff always made sure the guest was happy! The only thing I could say was the ice cream wasn’t included in the all inclusive! But besides that I was extremely happy with my stay , and will definitely be back!

I came with my mum and we had a lovely weeks holiday. The staff are lovely. From the cleaners, waiters, receptionist to managers, they all couldn’t do enough for us. The hotel, bar area, room, dining area and pool were all clean. Our room was cleaned everyday. The food is catered to more continental than British but we didn’t have an issue. There was always a stew type meal with rice which was lovely. If you’re looking for British food, you’re probably better looking for hotels in the marmarus area as the Antalya area is more European. There was 2 people in the hotel with wheelchairs which would have been good for us to know had my dad still been with us. There was lifts and ramps and the staff all helped the gentleman who was on his own. We booked a Turkish bath with the rep for £35 each then the place tried to con us out of another £35 for an hours massage. They also went to give us water and told us there was a charge! Don’t bother with them, the spa downstairs in the hotel is lovely. We ended us having a few treatments with them including an hours hot stone and a 90 minute lymphatic drainage massage. Both where amazing! There is a McDonald’s and Burger King next to the hotel, along with a few local fast food eateries. If you want to watch the footy, walk down the road in between McDonald’s and Burger King and the red lion pub is on the roundabout about 1/3 mile down the road. Walking the other way are the ruins and the harbour. Left to the harbour at the bottom and right for the beach and back home. The walk will take you between 1-2 hours and was lovely as it wasn’t too hot (march). We both would recommend this hotel and we would come back. Note to the wise, book a transfer/taxi transfer. You can get a return taxi for about £90 (in march) but the taxi from the airport or if the rep orders it for you will cost you £75 one way!

Absolute amazing hotel. Great services from start to finish. All staff extremely welcoming and helpful especially general manager Ali, quality manager Asli and bar man Riza. No fault in this place. It is that good me and my husband have booked up to come in 8 weeks time. Thanks all.

I had a very pleasant stay hotel beautiful and staff very polite and helpful . Food was very nice the area was friendly and the room was comfortable and the place is very clean.the WiFi is very good and fast will be coming back in the future .really relaxing break
