Overall, the hotel is clean and tidy, a lovely beach, and perfect water. no complaints there. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. This was our honeymoon, and I truly wish we’d chosen somewhere else. We booked the bed and breakfast option, but breakfast was a shambles. Each morning felt like a challenge to find something edible and good luck getting a coffee, only 4 machines which kept breaking, I ended up having pastries and cold sandwich meats most days, as the only hot options were boiled eggs, boiled sausages, and what can only be described as boiled “bacon”. The fried eggs were decent, but the coffee was extremely bitter. Honestly, it was the worst breakfast I’ve experienced while travelling. Even your average Premier Inn does a better job , and that’s saying something. We tried the evening buffet once at €35 per person, and that was more than enough. It was just as poor as the breakfast, bland and uninspired. To be fair, the à la carte restaurants weren’t all bad. We visited the tapas restaurant a few times , the food was much better and actually cheaper than the buffet. The beachside restaurant did a decent pizza, but most of the menu was overpriced for very average food. The quality didn’t match the price at all. The place was also severely understaffed. On one visit, we waited 35 minutes just for the bill , after already waiting 20 minutes to place our order. I don’t blame the staff, as they were clearly run off their feet, but on two separate occasions we were served the wrong food and drinks, and then told we’d ordered them, which we hadn’t. It was uncomfortable and we felt pressured to just accept it. We also sat down at the Ethno Village restaurant, but after looking at the menu and seeing what other people were being served, we decided to leave. €35 for a plain sea bass with no sides? Not a chance. I really value good food and don’t mind paying for quality , but this simply wasn’t it. Luckily, we had a car, so we ate out most evenings at proper restaurants that offered reasonable prices, great flavours, and food that was actually seasoned. And then there’s the car itself. Everywhere else I’ve stayed, parking has been included in the price , but not here. We haven’t checked out yet, so we’ll see what that surprise ends up costing. Even the sunbeds on the beach weren’t included , €10 per person, per day, which came to €200 extra over the course of our stay. Ridiculous and should have been made clear on the holiday booking. We have never actually stayed anywhere where you have to pay to use the beach that is part of the hotel before, just another way of squeezing money out of you. A small bottle of local beer at the hotel cost €5 , while a 2-litre bottle of the exact same brand cost €3 from the shop. Everything here feels overpriced by at least 120%. Croatia as a country is beautiful, and I would absolutely come back, but I would not return to this resort.
