This hotel offers a spectacular view of the rice plain terraces. It is also very quiet and peaceful, suitable for those who wants a short getaway from the bustling city. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Though the breakfast offered was not to the standard of a luxury hotel I would say. Otherwise, all is good. 👍

I accidentally saw a guide on Mafengwo that recommended that if you want to visit the Duoyishu Terraces, you should stay at Huawowojia Inn. The inn is built on the cliff. There are several inns from top to bottom. Their location is not the highest. After leaving the parking lot, you have to walk a long dirt road and stone steps to the bottom. It is a bit inconvenient for elderly people with mobility problems. Fortunately, the inn staff will carry a large backpack to help you carry your suitcase. I was afraid that my 28-inch suitcase would not fit, so they had to help us deliver it to the parking lot the next day. Although the view is not as wide as the above inns, it feels closer to the terraces. In addition to the view room, there is also an outdoor platform where you can drink tea, sunbathe and enjoy the view. The interior is very unique and romantic, and feels very warm. There are a few sofa cushions on the wooden staircase, and I feel like I can sit there for an afternoon to drink tea, read books, and bask in the sun. The room is also quite warm, with air conditioning, electric blankets, and a large shower room with separate wet and dry areas. You can enjoy the view from the large French window, but I still set up a tripod to take a time-lapse photo early in the morning. The sunrise was about 7:50, and I felt like I had been waiting for half an hour and it still hadn't come out. I couldn't help but go upstairs to the room, but it suddenly jumped out. The innkeeper thought it wouldn't come out today, but fortunately he took a photo and asked him to send it to me. If you come to Yuanyang Terraces, I suggest staying here, so you don't have to rush to the viewing platform early in the morning to watch the sunrise.

This time I went to Yuanyang to see the terraced fields. I looked at several homestays on Ctrip and finally booked Yifangyuandian. The homestay, Yuntu and Huawowo are all on the hillside cliff of Duoyishu terraced fields. The viewing position is excellent, almost the same as the view from the viewing platform of Duoyishu Scenic Area. The terrace and floor-to-ceiling windows in the room face the Duoyishu Rice Terraces. There is no need to squeeze into the observation deck in the morning. The proprietress was also very welcoming. After she made a phone call when she got to the main road, she drove a small electric car to help with the luggage. The homestay also provides stir-fried dishes at a reasonable price. I will stay at her house next time I come to the terraced fields.

We chose to stay here to see the terraced fields. We were satisfied. We stayed in a ground floor courtyard room. The room was very large and the bedding was clean. We checked in in mid-February. Xiaoyun kindly turned on the electric heater for us. She also reminded us at around 6 that the restaurant would close at 8. She showed us the sunrise and sunset guide. We stayed above the terraced fields. The scenery was very pleasant. We could walk into the restaurant in one step. The breakfast was also very rich. The hotel's additional tickets were worth it. Very new, quiet and beautiful environment, fully equipped, with two bathrooms, refrigerator, washing machine, laundry detergent, it is very convenient to wash and dry clothes. Not far from Dongfengyun, including breakfast at Meijingge Hotel, breakfast was also taken by the pool of Meijingge to take a beautiful picture of Dongfengyun. The housekeeper was very caring, told us that the water pipe was enough, and sent a video to tell us how to go to the hotel for breakfast, how to go to the Dongfengyun, how to come back, the scenery along the way is also very nice! In the evening, we watched the light show and dance of the grape festival in Dongfengyun and just came back to wash and rest. If you come to Dongfengyun, I feel that the price/performance ratio here is much higher.

This was a really unexpected find in the villages around the Yuanyang rice terraces. The building itself is really beautiful and directing overlooks the terraces. The room was surprisingly large and the floor to ceiling window offers a great view(weather permitting). The bed was super comfortable and shower hot and powerful. The best part was the sister who works here; she couldn’t have been more helpful, even walking us to the nearby village to find a place to eat. She is enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about the area. The only downside(and I know it’s a bit of a sensitive issue) is the lack of air conditioning in the room. Even at the end of June it isn’t hot around Yuanyang, but it is very humid and air conditioning could definitely help with the latter. That being said, I slept well with the window open and would definitely recommend and stay here again.
