"The building is old, but we have renovated it as much as possible, so it was comfortable. Thank you very much. The breakfast is a heartwarming home-cooked meal. There is a lot of it."

"This hotel has a fantastic location as it is near to the Shingu station and the other key places of interests like the Hongu Taisha, Kumano Hayatama Taisha, Asuka Jinja Shrine and the Shingu Castle Ruin. Of course food and cafe are everywhere and some near the hotel. There is a nice cafe across the Jo to the left known as Tanpuku and a nice local Japanese home-cooked food restaurant know as Masaya. There are washing machines for use at 200¥. Some not so good areas are: 1. You can only have service or attention at 3pm. 2. No free coffee, tea or soft drinks (like Komenoi and Dormy Inn) 3. Drinking water is only from the tap. 4. Small Onsen pool that is rectangular in size for about 10-12 pax max. Check out my other reviews and you shall find some good recommendations for authentic Japanese cuisines. Ye"

"Good experience overall. The rooms are clean, well-maintained & comfortable though a bit dated. The city-center location is great and put us right where we needed to be."

"The room was new and very clean, no issues. But be aware: it has a shared bathroom and toilet. It was fine for me, as I was staying alone, but it was a bit inconvenient to use the restroom at night. If you're using the bathroom with a large group, you need to schedule shower times in advance; they're posted on a board. The kitchen and dining room are quite unique and fully functional, making them perfect for a group of friends. Downstairs is a supermarket owned by the same owner, and the room also includes a 10% discount coupon for unlimited use. Each room also offers free bicycle rentals. Overall, it's a good experience, but be sure to learn how to use the shared facilities in advance."

"The first impression as you enter this place does not bode well - the carpet in the reception area is heavily stained and soiled and this is true throughout the accommodation. The place is more like a run down holiday camp than a hotel. Meals are had refectory style at communal tables. The setting of the room was nice looking out onto the river, but the rooms only have toilets and basins, no shower or bath. The furniture in the room was heavily chipped and stained. Really the whole place should be closed down and refurbished, it’s shameful."
