I was expecting breakfast to be something simple like rice, miso soup, natto, and hot spring water*, but there was a wide variety of dishes, including salad, several small side dishes, and grilled fish, and I was able to enjoy local ingredients, so it was a very satisfying breakfast. I think this is a historic hot spring inn, so there are stains on the carpet in the hallway and wear on the sliding door handles in the rooms that have come with age, but the shoji screens are not torn and the hotel is very clean despite its age, and I was very happy with the price range. I would like to use it again when I visit Shimo-Suwa.
