The staff is very warm and takes good care. A special mention of Vishal and Neeraj in the dining area, Sneha from housekeeping, Mrinalini and Disha from the front desk, and untiring buggy drivers, especially Kumar Singh We enjoyed the food, the ala carte menu of Tragopan is very good. It has a lot of non-Indian options as well as burgers, pizzas as well to please the kids. The breakfast as well as the dinner buffet has a large spread. There are a large number of vegetarian options available in the buffet as well as the menu. The only reason I gave one star less is that there is hardly much to do in the premises. There is paid trek, paid picnic options available, as well as a heated pool and Jacuzzi (free but you have to book the slot), and live music during high tea and at the bar. The Duplex rooms are lovely with an unobstructed view of the valley. Great for a family Shimla is 1.30 hrs away (because of heavy traffic). But winters will be absolutely awesome here... As it snows all around you.

We really had a wonderful time at this Taj property. The staff was very courteous and helpful. It was also interesting to note that the Kids / activity section was providing much more options that what we see generally. My kid enjoyed his time with the PS4 as well as shooting and archery. Also, the views from the property are simply amazing

Wonderful staff and worth a visit. Scope for improvement in - 1. Room service 2. Maintenance of rooms as the rooms given had a leaky roof. The staff could have handled the situation with little empathy and comcern The restraunt has a good ambience and wonderful spread. The view of surrounding mountains ***** with gourmet food is an experience to cherish.

Poor foodand restaurant services They were not able to manage 70 percent occupancy. Restaurant staff was poor Food variety was poor as per Taj standard. We left the hotel one day prior to our reservation. Experience was good but food was poor

Stayed in this hotel last week with the family . Had a wonderful experience with Taj theog . Staff in this hotel is very friendly specially Mr. Sachin Devender and Harshit at the Desk.facilities and ambiance was really good . It was worth staying in this hotel. They also have very good dining options, Indian and a multi -cuisine restaurant. Himachali Thali will be the recommended, food.

Taj Theog is a superb property for stay with loved ones. The staff, ambiance, activities, and facilities are commendable. The variety and taste of the food are outstanding. Special thanks to Mr. Jitendra and his team for their amazing hospitality. It's a must-visit to experience a luxurious lifestyle.

If one rally wants to relax and have soothing, cool and calm experience then this is one of the place. Far away from crowded Shimla, it is the place where you would love to go again. The breakfast and food served by both the restaurants are really delicious.

- The approach road is in a mess because of construction - No staff is there to help if there are two cars crossing on the hill to Taj which is not the case with Windflower. Windflower has a proper signal. - The team did nothing (except a tiny cake) out of the way for a special occasion celebration, despite requesting - Decorating a table with some petals, a special table cover, etc is basic.. But no!! Taj Theog team doesn't seem to be interested - Poorly maintained garden and green areas.. - Almost no flowers! - For the price, they are charging, they definitely need to do much more!

Harshit was an absolute delight, he helped us all throughout our stay and made sure we are comfortable. I keep travelling around Taj properties but theog was amazing. It was my second time here and I will definitely come again. Thank you Taj.

One of best property visited, excellent views and amenities, food & service outstanding Don’t miss sunset time spending in west garden of hotel My wife had a medical emergency for which hotel responsibly took care and made sure she got best possible treatment and care that’s why Brand Taj is great Mr Sankalp ( sales ) & Mrs Pooja were great & took my care like a king & assisted me very well for my plans Mr Sachin, Ms.Sneha, Mr Lalita Mr.Amreek singh fnb manager Mr.Deepak manager & Ritika & many whose name I don’t remember are gems of taj Theog

Feedback from our three night/four day stay is as follows: 1. The best and most comfortable part of our journey was Mr. Soni (Driver of Innova 8413), a gentle giant and thorough gentlemen, never letting the traffic get the worst of him. Our climb into the Upper Shimla hills was smooth as butter only because of him. Unfortunately, we did not ride with him on our way back, which we much regretted later. 2. Check in by Ms Mrinalini Rana was very smooth and we were escorted to our room. Our room was upgraded and already had a cot placed into our room as we had requested. It was a very kind and warm gesture on behalf of house keeping. 3. The first evening was easy and laid back. We took to the Buffet for Dinner (priced at 2500 pp++). We had one buffet and one A La Carte order. 4. First night, mischievous kids rang our door bell at midnight and ran away!! No way to figure out where they had come from as most rooms on floor 4 were group bookings. 5. Next morning after an early morning stroll around the property, and a laid back breakfast we headed off to Hatu Peak picnic around 11. An hour long drive to Narkanda from where we were, in a locally hired car ***** with the activities team staff. Stopped enroute at Khadu Cafe with magnificent views and sumptuous Himaachali food (Siddhu Ghee!) for lunch and some freshly picked cherries for travel. Headed straight for Hatu Peak Mandir. Road is not for the faint hearted and definitely not recommended for a first time outsider driver. After Mataji darshan, we climbed down mid way to set up camp picnic in windy and rainy conditions near an opening. Set up Picnic table, stools, tent, stove, Bluetooth speaker and a small bonfire to keep ourselves warm. We had a gala 2.5 hrs of family time in the hills. The picnic activity is a must for all families as you can experience outdoors in an assisted and safe environment. The picnic included warm tea and coffee with Muffins and Biscuits, and followed up with some must have hot Maggie. We loved the picnic experience with Mr,. Jitendra Thakur from the activities team. He was such a patient and warm guide. Perfect blend of Himaachali routed in ethics and mannerism. On the way back we stopped by again to pick up food from Khadu Cafe and say hi to our new friend. 6. Dinner at the usual Tragopan buffet setup, which tends to get crowded at around 8 to 830pm. Second night buffet was a pass. The desserts made up for the choices. I couldn't help but notice the irregularity in crockery (wine and water glasses), cutlery (soup spoon, dessert spoon, serving spoon etc). 7. Next morning after breakfast, we again headed out for our trail hike with Mr. Jitendra Thakur. The trail is just north of the property, half accessible by motorable road and the other half by walking trails. Our hiking experience with a 5 year old was also memorable. Enjoyed the view from the hike above, while souping up some hot team and confectionary. As always, Mr. Thakur was truly remarkable during the hike

The hotel carries Taj brand but falls short on providing experience. We had bad experience at check in (room request made on same floor not met) , no welcome drink (not even water offered ) , service at the main restaurant at dinner on 14th night was very bad . Worst was billing issues wherein fictitious charges were added and only removed when called out - BE CAREFUL WITH THEIR BILLING I never had such experience at any Taj property . Pros were that property is well maintained

We had an excellent stay at Taj Theog.. We went together as two families with small kids .The location is pristine and far off from the usual summer crowd in Shimla. The hotel is perched on top of a mountain and can see mountains at your same level. The mountain range views are breathtaking. Multiple trek possibilities and endless apple orchards. And if you are adventurous you can trek up to the Naageshwari temple perched on a mountain peak. The hotel facilities are top notch. The evening live music is enjoyable . We loved the food and breakfast. Special mention for Mr. Sachin at Taj Theog who went out of his way to make our TaJ theog visit memorable. Will visit again in December.
