Ri Kynjai Serenity by the Lake

Very beautiful resort...scenic view from the cottage room of the lake and mountains. Food is very good. We were 25 batchmates having fun together for 3 nights and hotel and staff provided great service. The only this to plan is that the place has many levels - reception, rooms, bfst room, gardens so visitors with legs issues will have a problem as they don't have lifts!! The place is 26 kms before Shillong (coming from Guahati). One should largely plan to stay in the resort and enjoy it. Doing single day trips from here to Cherpunji, Dwaki etc is not a great idea. The traffic takes too much time.

Had the most amazing time at Ri Kynjai. From direct reservation (thank you Ms Reena) to welcome, check in, quality of our cottage, breakfast and meals served: everything was just perfect. It was so good that we didn't want to leave the hotel and go to Shillong city. Our lake view cottage had the most breath taking views. One could just sit in the balcony over looking Umiam lake. Breakfast was amazing everyday. The staff is so well trained that it's a delight to interact with them. We slept peacefully as the resort is so quite and serene. They even helped us with a taxi and driver whose services were beyond excellent. I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Service -The service throughout the resort was excellent, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience. Suggestion - The resort's tranquil ambiance and stunning natural surroundings make it an ideal destination for relaxation and rejuvenation. However, the absence of a swimming pool was a slight disappointment, especially during the warmer months. Final Verdict - Overall, Rikynjai Resort is a highly recommended choice for travelers seeking a peaceful and luxurious getaway in Meghalaya. The resort's stunning location, comfortable accommodations, make it a truly memorable experience.

Good Experience. Rooms are very clean and the behaviour of the staffs are very nice. Loved the beauty of umami lake from the room. I went their with my wife and two years old daughter. All loved the stay here. I recommend to go and visit ri kinjai

We stayed at the Ri Kynjai for 1 night. The rooms were spacious, but lacked air conditioning. This can be a problem during the summer months. Unfortunately, the resort seemed to have some maintenance issues during our stay. Some of the rooms located close to ours were under maintenance, and were being painted. Another major problem was that their Generator was out of service, and we were forced to wait for the electricity to come back. The manager was receptive of the feedback and apologetic. They did offer us free dinner as an apology. The location is beautiful, and the resort has been done up well. The food at the restaurant is also nice, with good service, but slow.
