The Anvil Lodge

Absolutely outstanding room....amazing hosts...Mike was wonderful, very chatty, friendly and helpful. The room was ultra modern and really clean...the bed was HUGE and so comfortable....slept like a 👶 baby ...room was warm,cosy, quiet. Breakfast...got exactly what we asked for...the bacon was thick and juicy and crispy(as requested) outstanding breakfast all fresh ingredients soooo delicious. Will definitely be staying here against...many thanks Mike.

Lovely stay in the Anvil Lodge. Parked in their private secure car park, was greeted by host. Room was immaculately clean, superb oversized bed that was super comfy. Lovely corner bath, toiletries, fluffy Egyptian towels. Own entrance to room so you could return as late as needed in the evening. Delicious breakfast with choices of yogurts, cereals, juices followed by a full English breakfast and choice of teas, coffees etc. Nothing was too much trouble, would definitely stay here again.

Had a Great stay at the Anvil Lodge with Judy Mike and the lovely little pup Barney from late November into early December. The Meet and Greet was Mikes usually impeccable service with all requests for the trad Irish the following Morn. The Room was fresh warm and the bed was massive. There was ample milk tea making facilities with plenty of bickies on running out of bickies we were quickly supplied from Micks stash choccy digestive which we enjoyed that evening . The Shower following morning or choice of a bath water was as hot as you like with plenty of it good pressure from the shower with ease of heat control and ample shower body lotion and shampoo to give you that refreshing morning wake up call before heading down for that breakfast. So breakfast starters are a choice of drinks pure orange or blackcurrant followed by a multiple choice of cereals cornflakes Weetabix etc tea coffee and the piece of resistance that Full Irish or you can have it to suit your needs the Wife likes the yoke of the egg without the white and Mike was more that helpful in achieving our different requests, Judy was quite the ideal host in informing where the latest events were going on some of the best local pubs and restaurants to visit in the evening and keep us abreast of events in the RAF Museum Iron Bridge and for a bit of fun at Jurrasic Creek adventure Golf plenty to do and Shifnal is so central to Wales Liverpool and Birmingham so stay at Mike and Judys to sign off a wonderful stay Thank you so much cant wait to return in March 2024

Had a fantastic stay at this lovely guesthouse. From arriving to departing we were made to feel welcome. The room was immaculate, lovely big comfy bed, great en suite and to top it off a delicious breakfast. We will definately be staying here again.

Got to the accommodation late in the day due to change of plan and entertaining a client. As soon as I pulled into the car park, host appeared and ordered me to explain why I was in his car park. Asked to book one nights stay and thought that would mellow the situation! It didn’t as walked around to reception where he was rude to my customer, whom was just trying to find the entrance to the pub we were eating in and not interested in the accommodation at all. Told me breakfast started at 7:30 - I had to leave by 7 so refused, not a big issue my choosing but the biscuits in the room, which I took to eat for breakfast were out of date by months!! Room was OK not overly clean and a little noisy as next to Road. Won’t be staying there again as much nicer (now I have looked) hotel very close with more amenities and very competitively priced. Lesson learnt and will do research first next time. (Yes there was a long black hair in the glass and holder in the bathroom, I have a shaven head so not mine)

Great place to stay, room was lovely, clean & bed was massive, very comfortable. Was greeted on car park on arrival & shown where to go to check in. Asked if wanted just continental or a full English breakfast, myself & my partner both opted for full English which was cooked lovely :) host are lovely & very friendly. Will defo stay here again!!
