Hotel di Huaqiangbei Area, Shenzhen

Pros: great location. Right next to the electronic markets and a few minutes walk to two different tube stations, so easy access to the city. The staff were also very friendly and they changed my room for me as my first room was very dirty. There’s a free washing machine on the rooftop but there’s no dryer though. Cons: the first room I had was very dirty, it stank of cigarette smoke. The hotel staff let me change room the next night which I appreciated. The next room was a lot better. The whole hotel in general was very dated. There is a rooftop which is a lovely addition, however the the decking flooring is falling apart and there was holes in the floor. It felt a bit dangerous. Overall it was an alright hotel for the price. I was expecting a little better though as I have stayed in other hotels in China around the same price which were a lot cleaner and modern. However I did appreciate the staff letting me change room. Also great location.

Service was superb! Location is very very close to the electronic city and also the subway station. Love the supper they provide for guests every night. Very thoughtful of them. Cleanliness was very good.

The hotel was near to the old electronics mall where one can buy many electronic stuffs at a low price. Food wise there are a many stalls below. The only downside could be that the level 1 entrance can be difficult to find as it is at the back of the main entrance and one has to route around the building to the back to enter the hotel. Lobby reception would be at Level 23.

The reception is on the 11th floor, for some reason they don't have it marked anywhere. They are a bit disorganized, but they certainly try to please you and accept their mistakes. The GYM was not open due to remodeling. The organization should be done a little better!

I am very satisfied. Their service attitude is very good. The quilts and pillows in the room are very soft, and the room is very quiet! The geographical location is great! I like the desk lamp in the room very much. It's very beautifulllllll !

Clean, quick service, but the entrance is not easy to find. It’s close to public transport and many eateries.

The hotel was in an excellent location. Close to two metro stations. Plenty of food places around. At road level take the elevator to the 3rd floor where reception is located. I am glad I didn't opt for the including breakfast room options as the hotel breakfast looked very basic and there are much better options outside. The reservation noted a mini bar and soft drinks however the hotel did not provide these. Only one of the reception staff went over and above to help despite language barriers. There was no coffee available in the room. I also found a hair on the bed. Perhaps it was by accident from house keeping but please pay more attention to detail.

I’m very satisfied with the Cc’s good service and attitude. She is very active to support us. I’m very happy to stay here and want to visit this hotel again :)

The location of the hotel is perfect, making it convenient for both business and leisure travelers. It’s situated in a prime area with easy access to local attractions, dining, and transportation. However, I did encounter an issue that was somewhat frustrating. The hotel requires a deposit of 200¥ for one night, which is quite unusual for hotels of this stature. Furthermore, there is a significant lack of clarity regarding the return of this deposit. When asked, the staff could not provide a definitive timeline, mentioning it could take anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks. This uncertainty can be quite troublesome for guests who need the funds promptly after their stay. Despite this inconvenience, the overall experience at the Great Wall Hotel was positive. I would recommend it for the comfort and convenience it offers, but potential guests should be aware of the deposit policy.
