Overpriced, poor experience, disappointing customer service
I stayed here and unfortunately cannot recommend this hotel. For £108 without breakfast, I expected much better. The room was very small and compact, and there was a noticeable smell of cigarette smoke inside. My room faced a tall wall/car park with absolutely no view and very little natural ventilation — it felt quite stuffy.
When I asked to change rooms, I was told none were available. Mobile signal was very poor throughout the building, and the hotel Wi-Fi was also weak and unreliable. During checkout, the service felt unwelcoming — I was simply told to drop the keys and go, with no courtesy or interaction. I also noticed flies in the corridors and around the window area.
Comparison: I moved to Hampton by Hilton Sheffield instead — £68, much cheaper, spacious clean rooms, excellent friendly service, and free breakfast included. Night and day difference. I'd advise anyone to book elsewhere — this Ibis does not offer good value at all.
