Premier Inn Sheffield City Centre (St Mary's Gate)

Lovely freshly redecorated premier inn. I love the new room design, especially the purple light in the bathroom!! Walk in shower was lovely: great having a choice of two shower heads and the water pressure was good. Beds super comfy, but the duvets are just too thick and I woke up very hot and uncomfortable. They don’t need to be so thick in a room where the window doesn’t open and the air con is a bit temperamental. Hotel staff were lovely throughout our stay; really friendly and helpful. Car park wasn’t too hard to find, but the entrance is mad! So narrow and you arrive at the wrong angle. It took me a couple of tries to get straight enough to avoid damaging my smallish car. Good to have a secure and reasonable priced car park, and you could go straight into the hotel from it. The hotel is conveniently located for the city centre and Sheffield Hallam University. It was easy enough to find, although I didn’t like the ring road!! I ate in the restaurant in the evening and the pizza was lovely and served quickly. Breakfast was the usual PI fare, although the bacon was a bit hard.

The hotel was in a good location for the Corporation, the music venue I was visiting that evening and not too far a walk from the railway station! I had a warm welcome from the receptionist. The bedroom on the 12th floor had recently been painted so was clean and fresh but the smell was strong and the window did not open! The smell from the bathroom was really bad, smelt like bad drains which was wafting into the bedroom, the extractor fan didn't seem to work! But the bed was very comfortable! Yes I would stay here again!

Excellent value for money and within walking distance to the venue our event was at that evening, which meant we parked up before check in and didn't need the vehicle again until check out! Very comfortable room with a nice enough suite and a brilliant shower! Friendly staff and great food in the morning when we went down for breakfast!

Great room good service from the staff and the food was brilliant. Only stayed for 1 night but would be happy to go back again for another stay. The bed and pillows was very comfy and the cleanliness of the room was amazing had a great night's sleep

I stayed one night checked in 25th Feb 25. I was booked in by Kris who was very polite and helpful. The room was great on the 9th floor. At breakfat Sallyanne was an excellent representative for Premier Inn she proved to be helpful and gave great customer service. I complimented the young chef Connor as this was without doubt the best breakfast I've had in a Premier Inn. I requested 2 poached eggs with my breakfast and they were done to prefection. I can say all three of your staff are a credit to your company. It was my first visit to this hotel but it won't be my last.
