Shanghai Minhang District 5-star Hotels

Besides the location and the gym, this hotel has little to offer. Getting a car takes at least 10 minutes and finding the place where to get into the car is no pick nick either. I requested a room with a window. Request was not granted. Fair enough. At around 2:30am it sounded like the smoke detector alarm went off in the room next to me. It went on for 5-10 minutes. Going off an on again several times. I checked outside my door, but no one else seemed to take it seriously as a fire hazard. The bedding was quite comfortable, so aside from the alarm going off, it was a good night’s sleep.

check in and out was super easy and the staff were super friendly. My room did not have the AC working and after one night of the heat a nice manager helped us and changed the room. The other room had more air flowing in and helped adjust the  atmosphere.  Overall we did not book breakfast and we did not order room service as there are many restaurants around. We like the location since we have friends living in the neighboring compounds and that way we are all very close by.

We recently stayed at the Sofitel Shanghai Hongqiao for the Chinese New Year holiday, and overall, it was a delightful experience. Booking through Trip.com was seamless, and their chatbot was very helpful for any questions we had. The hotel room was impressively spacious, clean, and filled with natural light from the large window, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We did try the pool, but unfortunately, the kids' pool was closed, which was a bit inconvenient since we were traveling with children. The dining options offered a nice variety of Chinese and Western cuisine, although I noticed that the majority leaned towards Chinese dishes. One of the highlights of our stay was the smooth check-in process. We arrived at the hotel around 11 AM and were pleased that they were able to accommodate our request for early check-in. A special mention goes to Max, who was exceptionally accommodating and made us feel welcome. Overall, we had a wonderful stay, but we do hope that the kids' pool will be open during our next visit. Our stay at Aman Yangyun was an unforgettable experience for our family. We arrived at the hotel by taxi from the airport, but we encountered a problem as we couldn’t complete the payment due to issues with our Alipay setup. The hotel staff quickly stepped in, escorting us to the lobby and taking care of the payment on our behalf. Moreover, since the taxi driver had charged us an unreasonably high amount, the staff even negotiated a reduction for us. Their swift and thoughtful actions gave us a great sense of relief. While every aspect of our stay was exceptional, the following experiences left a particularly lasting impression: 1. **Calligraphy Workshop with the Kids** We participated in a calligraphy session as a family, where we learned the techniques of writing and created beautiful pieces under the guidance of the instructor. 2. **Cycling Adventures** We rented bikes and explored the vast forest adjacent to the hotel. The cycling experience was incredibly refreshing and rejuvenating. 3. **New Year’s Fireworks** At midnight on New Year’s Eve, a spectacular fireworks display lit up the sky. The sheer volume of fireworks was astonishing—far beyond what you’d expect from a single hotel. It was a truly satisfying experience, and we could tell that a great deal of effort and expense had gone into the celebration. 4. **Peaceful Landscape with Wildlife** The hotel grounds were home to deer, black swans, and a beautiful river, creating a serene and idyllic landscape that was both calming and delightful. This stay will remain a cherished memory for our family.

Positives first! The staff was wonderful. Kind and attentive, they helped me with everything I needed. They assisted in booking museum tickets and in getting directions, got the wifi fixed right away...always with a smile. The hotel and it's rooms are beautiful and we'll kept, lots of services. Surrounded by the airport, train station and major highway - but you can't hear a thing from the room! Shuttle to major places (on a schedule) and centrally located in Shanghai. Negatives. It is not near anything tourist friendly without a cab (didi), if you want to walk. The aircon in the room never got super cool, so I was warm all night (23c) which can be a negative for people who sleep 🥶. Breakfast is served but extra and a little pricy for a buffet. All in all my review is highly positive. I would highly recommend this hotel and would love to return in slightly cooler weather to use the lovely rooftop pool and get a facial in the spa!

Once again staying at the Xiangyuan Hilton in Hongqiao, Shanghai, everything went smoothly. The hotel is located near the Caohejing Development Zone, which can be reached by taxi in 15 minutes, making it convenient for travelling to work. The front desk service was great. I was greeted with a friendly manner and arranged for a nice room. The hygiene of the room was very clean, the linens were very neat, even the cups showed signs of careful cleaning. I enjoyed the gym facilities at this hotel, the variety of equipment was very good for my fitness needs. Overall, a very satisfying stay and would like to return again when opportunity arises

Great service, buffet serving for breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner all taken off by the Hotel. Important point to note: If you are taking red eye flight, you will be charge half day room rate for early check in.

Our honeymoon trip in China got off to a rocky start in Nanjing, but everything turned around the moment we arrived in Shanghai and checked into this hotel. From the smooth and fast check-in process handled by Nana, who was polite and welcoming, to the exceptional service provided throughout our stay, the experience was truly picture-perfect. Echo, Gloria, and Sally were incredibly helpful, assisting us with questions about Taobao deliveries, local attractions, and requests for extra amenities like toiletries, towels, and water. On our second night, Annie and Manager Jocelyn warmly greeted us, congratulated us on our wedding and honeymoon, and made us feel genuinely valued with their thoughtful gestures. It was a pleasant surprise that the entire team seemed aware of our special occasion and consistently wished us happiness throughout our stay. When it was time to check out, Jocelyn and Fenty assisted us with our luggage, transportation inquiries to the railway station for the next leg of our trip, and even went the extra mile to help ship our remaining Taobao parcels to our final destination. Our only minor concern is the distance to the nearest station, which is about a 16-minute walk; a shuttle service would make this hotel a perfect 10/10. Nevertheless, with the outstanding hospitality we received, this hotel is a solid 9.9/10, and we are deeply grateful to the entire team for making our honeymoon stay so memorable. Location, location, Location. walking distance train station Shanghai Hongqiao . amazing clean rooms , nice breakfast and amazing lounge after 6 pm offered free with some rooms ( worth it )
