It’s hard to beat this location, connected directly to the MRT and walking distance to so many good places on Hengshan Rd. The hotel is also beautiful, with many works of art. I would stay again if the price was reasonable. Breakfast was mediocre, so I wouldn’t suggest paying for it. And service was not as good as some other hotels I’ve stayed in Shanghai, not the 5 star standard.

As much as I love this hotel, I feel seriously let down by both the hotel and your company today because I learned that I was being forced to check out just this morning, despite our 3-party agreement that I will continue to extend my stay every 3-4 days until June 5, and that I will be notified in advance whenever I need to officially extend. Now, it is 230p on a Friday afternoon, and I am scrambling to find new accommodation. Epic fail!

The hotel staff are extremely helpful; especially the front desk workers! I have encountered many obstacles throughout my stay in Shanghai and the staff are patient, resourceful, and efficient to resolving all my obstacles. 嚴曉珍, one of the front desk workers, who is warm, friendly, and professional and has high problem solving skills! The hotel is very lucky to have a staff like her! The location is really nice! The neighborhood is beautiful and convenient. You can find nice restaurants, cafes, and bars. All in walking distance! I highly recommend this hotel to all kinds of travelers; business or pleasure!

This experience was beyond any of my expectations. The location of the hotel itself is a wonder- it didn’t feel like we were staying in one of the most central parts of Shanghai. It was quiet, tucked away from the bustling traffic and noises of big city life. The staff are a whole other side to our stay that is worth a paragraph in itself. I noted in my booking that we were coming for an anniversary stay, and were not only upgraded upon arrival, but were greeted with a delicious bottle of wine, fresh fruits, and attentive staff members that carried a pleasant yet professional attitude with every interaction. We now know where we’ll be staying for our future trips to Shanghai! I definitely recommend a stay here to anyone seeing this!

Good service attitude. Good location. Convenient for travel. Good food around. The room is very warm and quiet. It is a good choice for those who go to the ENT hospital for treatment.

I last stayed at this hotel 10 years ago, when it was still named ”Regal International East Asia Hotel”. 10 years later, when I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel again, I was surprised that the hotel was more or less kept as the same, with a similar classy style and decor. Even the rooms looked the same! Although they were probably never renovated, the fixtures and fittings were kept in very good condition and the beds comfortable. It is located in a very classy and laid back part of Xujiahui, Shanghai which was part of the former french concession. I had a good stroll down Hengshan Road, and found that while it was tree-lined and as pretty as ever, there were more cafes and malls there now. The location is also very convenient, a short stroll away from Wukang Building, 5 mins walk to Hengshan Road station and 15mins drive from the bund. As I had just arrived from Chongqing, which is most definitely a second tier chinese city, I was taken aback by the good english spoken by the reception, which was much better than that in a similar 5 star hotel in CQ. The hotel staff all provided good service and were courteous. The room was large and I appreciated the work table, something that is not common in other hotels of similar price range. The toilet's design was a little strange though, as there was no real separation from the shower area and the sink(only had a glass door). While I didn't have the time to use the hotel's facilities, there was a large indoor swimming pool and a fully equipped gym-- with fitness instructors and classes. Very impressive. The breakfast at the lobby restaurant was also good, with a good selection of hot food and bread, nothing to complain about. I also loved taking a stroll in the garden behind the restaurant, where locals were exercising and the gentle winter breeze uplifted my mood greatly. Overall, for the price paid, it is a good value for money hotel in Xujiahui, Shanghai, I love the hotel itself and the neighbourhood it is located in. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others and would definitely stay here again if I am back in Shanghai, China.

It was a nice hotel to stay, close to the train station and walking distance to a lot of local shops and restaurants. The hotel entrance is a bit inconvenient to get to, but someone was at the entrance to help us with carrying the suitcases to the lift. The reception is on the 6th floor. There are laundromat available and you can rent vinyls to your room, just need to pay the deposit. The room is spacious and has everything we need. The bed was comfortable, I personally don't like soft beds and it was perfectly fine. The staff doesn't speak English at all but they were helpful and we managed to communicate with them with just google translate. We also like that their checkout time is later than most hotels and we also get to leave our suitcases there to explore more of the city before our departure.

Location was perfect (one crossing away from metro entrance) to get to The Bund and other iconic sites located on line 1 and 2. Service was excellent. As a foreigner I had many friends use Taobao to deliver before I had even arrived and the lady at the reception was able to confirm some of my deliveries had arrived before I even arrived at the hotel. They explained clearly where all the amenities were located and were very patient with all enquiries. Obviously the bunk room single room is cramped, however for the cost and other aspects I would definitely book again. For context two large check in luggage inside room will be cramped. I had to flip the chair upside down onto the table to make space for one of my bags while I used the other.

The place is like service apartments. The cars can only alight outside, cannot do to the door. Then there is a flight of about 5 steps up to the lobby. Even on the rooms level, there are some steps so those with very very heavy luggage need to know when choosing room. Conveniently opposite Wukang building. Nearest metro is 交通大学, like a 5min walk away. No way of indicating no need for makeup of room on the door or do not disturb. You need to let lobby know if you do not want room make up service. Free water is available.

The room was clean, except for some details like under the bed, where it was full of dust. The closet is small for two people to share and the space available for storing clothes/luggage is in general tiny. Location of the hotel is nice, as it lies in a quite walkable area, and by foot you can reach the Huaihai Road (good for shopping) in 35m. Metro line 9 is a 15m walk. The service was okay. The staff at the reception did not speak English and they offered no help or guidance about the city: quite essential service. Their attitude was in general detached and seemed quite un-open to communicating. Also, after leaving the room and realizing there were still some clothes left inside, I tried to report it to the reception and they just sent me to the room to check without even communicating to the cleaning service. It ended up that my clothes were not in the room anymore and the staff offered no further help, so I left without these clothes. Also, i had explicitly booked a room with “City View” and I was placed in room 1402 with one very dirty window - out of 2 windows available to enjoy the view. After asking to clean it, they made an unsuccessful attempt and then just left me with the dirty window without any kind of compensation. I was only offered to switch to another room in a lower floor and with no city view, which made no sense considering I had paid more specifically to have a room with “City View”. Breakfast is decent and offers a good variety of food. The staff is understanding if a host is taking few minutes past closing time to finish the food. The staff at the breakfast floor is also very nice and friendly. The main perk of the hotel for me was the cafè at the hall, where a very friendly girl employee works. She was very nice and gave me and my girlfriend some unique advice on places to visit in the city. She was of course also making extremely good flat white and coffee. Balancing everything out though, if was to come back to Shanghai, I would probably choose a different hotel.
