Don't underestimate this place! Not only do they have the friendliest owners on the Mother Road, not only are their rooms clean and comfortable, not only is it located directly across the street from the Taj Majal of Texas, the Conoco Power Station & U-Drop Inn... this is the place you NEED to stay if you're driving Route 66. It has all the hallmarks of friendliness and good old fashioned hospitality, a throwback to better times. If you're lucky, you may even get one of the rooms that looks out at the green neon at night. Check out the great steakhouse down the block.

I would highly recommend this hotel if traveling down Route 66! The room was very clean and quite spacious. I had a mini fridge and microwave, work desk and even small table with 2 chairs! For the price this is definitely top notch! And it’s right across the street from the famous Conoco station!! I try to support these locally owned motels when I can and glad I chose the Western Motel!

I am traveling the entire Route 66. I'm sleeping in my truck to get the experience of the early travelers. Two days ago I decided to take a break from the road and stayed at the Western Motel. It's one of the gems of Route 66. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable about Route 66. He suggested several places to visit. The rooms are reasonably priced. Super clean, everything works. Cold AC, hot shower, comfy beds, coffee maker, microwave, fridge, TV. Close to stores and restaurants. I'll definitely be back.

This was the perfect motel for staying on the Route 66 road. The owner was such a great person. He was very aware of everything in the area and was very, very helpful with what to do along the way and even gave us brochures of things to do. Gave us great eating options too. He also supported other locals. Highly recommend this place.

MUST STAY AT WESTERN MOTEL Very nice Motel and owners are very helpful. Clean rooms with all amenities with very affordable room rate and location is close to everything. I had a delightful overnight stay here during a Route 66 photography trip. I couldn't help but pay a little extra to stay in the room that overlooked the Conoco's neon all night. My room was spacious and clean. I was able to walk to the local burger joint for dinner and the iconic Conoco was just across the street which made it easy for me to tote my gear for an evening neon shoot. The innkeeper was quite friendly and cordial- I managed to leave some equipment in my room after check-out and he called me to let me know it was left behind enabling me to run back and get it (rather than me making it all the way home, discovering it was gone and having to call and have it shipped back). The property is in great shape and well-maintained. It was an overall great stay, especially for a 66 tour. Shamrock is a Texas gem and I hope to stay the the Western Motel on my next journey on the Mother Road.

If you’re wanting to stay on iconic Route 66, then this is the place for you! Hotel is located right across the street from the vintage Conoco station. Clean and cozy room. Staff was friendly. Highly recommend.

We stay in this period motel every chance we get which is usually once a year. The rooms are meticulously clean and lovingly maintained-- and the service is friendly. The owners greet us like family and remember us from year to year when we call to make reservations. There are rooms with a view of the famous U-Drop Inn on Route 66. Love, love, love this motel and love the owners!
