The online images for these accommodations are masterful but, unfortunately, we didn't find that reality lived up to them. We were in Sevilla during April Fair so prices for all accommodations were quite high all over the city but SVS seemed like a relatively good deal based on reviews and photos. To give you a sense, we got a double bedroom with balcony that appears to go for around €125/night at normal times, whereas we paid €200/night. Even at the normal rate, I would consider it quite high for the level of accommodation we received. Pros: - Clean room. However, housekeeping never changed our bath mat in the four nights we stayed there even though it often got sopping wet because the shower door was a bit faulty and didn't keep the water contained in the shower stall. - A/C, which was a godsend even in May - Comfy bed and decent pillows - Good water pressure in the shower - Good location - Free bottle of wine Cons: - The room was small but fine. However, the bathroom was TINY. It was sort of shaped like a tall, skinny triangle with the shower at tip and the door at the base. The toilet was so close to the wall that if you were 5'8" or taller, your knees would hit the opposite wall while sitting on it (ask us how we know). - The shower had no shelves whatsoever to put any of your personal items on so they all had to sit on the shower floor while you bathed. It also made it very hard to shave your legs. - The only toiletries supplied was an unlabeled brown bottle of what I assume was some kind of full-body cleanser/shampoo combo. The pump was broken so we had to just pour it out of the bottle and it was incredibly drying. - Our room overlooked the street and the windows provided zero insulation against sound. You could hear EVERYTHING outside--conversations in the street, things rolling over the cobblestones, garbage trucks every morning, etc. Earplugs are an absolute must when staying here. Overall, SVS was OK but we did seriously consider swallowing the non-refundable cost and moving to another hotel that would be more comfortable. Pragmatism won out in the end and we dealt with it, but I would consider this one step up from a hostel in terms of quality--which is completely fine if you know that's what you're getting but we just expected something a little nicer based on photos.
