Kombo Beach Resort

I spent an incredible week at this resort, and my experience was absolutely unforgettable. The memories I created here will stay with me for a lifetime. Although I've travelled the world and stayed in many 5-star hotels, this one, especially considering its location in Africa, has far exceeded all my expectations, though it is not labelled as 5* but it is, indeed, seems like an impressive 5* resort. Resort Beauty: Kombo Beach Resort is an absolute paradise. The beauty of the resort is unmatched, with lush greenery surrounding you at every turn. Tall coconut trees and palm trees create a tropical haven everywhere, offering the perfect serene atmosphere. The well-maintained gardens and tranquil environment provide a perfect escape, making you feel like you’re in a slice of heaven. It’s a place where you can truly relax and enjoy nature’s beauty. Location: The location of Kombo Beach Resort couldn’t be more ideal. Directly located on the beach, it offers stunning views of the ocean and easy access to the sand and surf. Additionally, the resort is perfectly situated, being just about 10 minutes from Senegambia, where you’ll find plenty of activities, shops, and restaurants. Whether you're seeking a quiet getaway or easy access to local attractions, the location caters to both. Food and Dining: The variety and quality of food at Kombo Beach Resort is exceptional. From traditional local dishes to international cuisine, there’s something to satisfy every palate. The meals are not only delicious but are presented beautifully. Every bite was a delight, and I was impressed with the wide selection available. Whether enjoying breakfast by the beach or a sumptuous dinner, the dining experience was top-notch. Cleaning and Hygiene: The cleanliness and hygiene at Kombo Beach Resort are exemplary. The rooms, common areas, and dining spaces are impeccably maintained. The staff ensures that everything is spotless, and it’s clear that hygiene is a top priority. Fresh linens, clean towels, and thoroughly sanitized spaces contribute to a comfortable and safe environment. I felt at ease knowing that cleanliness was handled with such attention to detail. Staff and Service: The staff at Kombo Beach Resort made our stay even more memorable. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure we felt comfortable. Their genuine hospitality made a big difference, and it was clear that they take pride in making guests feel at home. From the front desk to the restaurant staff, everyone was kind and eager to assist. Minor Issue: While my overall experience was fantastic, there was a minor issue regarding the professionalism and attitude of one of the female managers. However, I reported the matter to the excellent manager, Emma, and I trust that she addressed the situation promptly. The Kombo beach resort is one of the cleanest resorts I have attended. The staff are super friendly play and interact with children keeping an eye on them. The food is very good with a good variety and the accomodation is very good and again very very clean. Our apartment was fully air-conditioned with patio on the ground floor and the locals are friendly and very helpful. Our Housekeeper Adama kept the apartment spotless and left different designs when making the bed daily. Bottled water is supplied free every day and a small fridge keeps drinks cool. I thoroughly recommend this resort and will definitely return.

Amazing hotel situated on a long, sandy beach. Food and drink was excellent: all meals and we particularly liked the barbecue on the beach. Beautiful gardens, a lovely room with sea and garden view. The service was outstanding. The manager, Victor, couldnt do enough for us and all the staff were so friendly and keen to help. Particular thanks to Linda at the bar, Sangha who gave us fresh fruit for breakfast every day and Francis who served us at meal times: all excellent staff members. We loved the wildlife, birds and the whole area of Kotu. We will definitely be back! Highly recommended.

This was our first time in Gambia and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Kombo Beach Resort is undergoing refurbishment with one new block due to be completed in a few months though you could not hear any noise. We were in Block A which I believe was done last year. Everything was new and in good working order but the quality of the finishing could definitely have been better. As per many of the other reviews, the staff are all very friendly and eager to help. A special thanks to the bar and restaurant staff but especially Terema for her attentive service. As vegetarians there was plenty of choice for breakfast with one Indian speciality each morning. The choices in the evening were quite limited for us on some days but the chefs Shankar and Bhagwan prepared something for us every day. At one lunch, Bhagwan was making Momos but these were all non veg. The next day, he specifically made vegetarian ones for us. Shankar even made us Aloo Paratha for breakfast on the day we left and packed some for the flight back. This definitely made us feel special and are so grateful to them. As vegetarians it would be more helpful if the labelling of the food was better with maybe a green V sticker to indicate what is suitable for vegetarians. The hotel is in a great location right on the beach and the weather at this time of year is perfect. It's very pleasant most of the time but can get hot between midday and 4pm but thankfully hardly any mosquitos! Thank you to Victor and his team for a lovely relaxing time at the hotel.
