Hotel Bintang 5 Seoul Jung-gu

Amazing stay at a classic hotel celebrating its 110 anniversary this year. Exemplary service from each of the staff. Airport limousine bus stopped directly at the hotel which was super convenient.

Hotel was great in many sense - location just next to City Hall station - enthusiastic, helpful bellboys who would take the initiative to help - very clean rooms, large bathroom - view of the City Hall from my room was great - my room didn't have enough space to open luggage bags on the floor unless you move away the heavy chairs There was just one thing I couldn't understand. I arrived at the hotel at about 2.50pm. They told me that check in time is 3pm. So I thought maybe we can do the registration first, but get the keys at 3pm, which is what other hotels do when I've arrived earlier than the check in time. But I was told that they can only start processing the registration at 3pm. As we checked out on NYE, the hotel was fully booked, so they were not able to allow us late check out even by an hour. But this, I can understand.

Got a room from the residence tower. The room was nice and spacious, and the bathroom was huge. Came with a kitchenette and washing machine in the room. Walking distance to dongdaemun night market, plenty of food choices nearby within 10mins walk. There’s a small convenience store around the corner. Towels smelt of bleach, but otherwise, they were always clean! The hotel was by a main road, and it was easy for cabs and a private drop off at the back of the hotel for a longer wait. The lady behind the counter at the cafe located on Level 1, she seems to be dreaming most of the time. Had to keep repeating myself for her to get the message. Room was 72x, she couldn’t find the number in the system despite asking us for it for 3 times. We had to write it down, and she still read it as 32x. 🙂↕️ had to correct her a couple of times that’s it’s SEVEN TWO x. Overall, great stay!

Stayed 5 nights, room no. 1520. The pros are location, near the subway station and the hotel has a shuttle bus to get you there. The view from the room is good, facing the Nan Shan. The out room jacuzzi is fantastic The service from the front door and facilities are good especially the front door staff called ”Dustin Lee”, he behaved professionally and friendly which made me feel I really was a guest in your hotel. The Cons: The room was a bit shabby and outdated, also the closet couldn't close properly. The hotel lobby will always be crowded as different kinds of people get there, which annoys me. Also, I had a worse experience at my check-out, the receptionist asked me if it was okay with my stay, I said the lobby was crowded and chaotic which made me feel uncomfortable, but she said she didn't know what is ”chaotic”, I don't know what that means and I spelt to her, she behaved a bit cool and unfriendly, and the concierge staff next to her told her what is ”chaotic”, I think she is unprofessional and a bit rude. Also, last Saturday morning(22nd Feb), a couple took some wedding photos in the hotel lobby, and all the guests couldn't cross the lobby to the front door, I understand that it was the most memorable day for them, but the lobby is for all hotel guests, which may be made all hotel guests feel uncomfortable and inconvenient, I think the management should have done some arrangement for that to minimize the situation like that. Overall my stay was so-so, hope next time stay will be better as we go to Seoul quite often.

Service was amazing, warmly greeted by all the staff! No issue with cleanliness other than a weird smell in the bathroom but the cleaners attended to it quickly. We were lucky to get a good view from our room, and lucky to experience snow during my stay there. Food and desserts were perfect. They had a cash currency exchange machine at the lobby that couldn’t accept overseas cards. Location wise, its 15mins walk to the station, Airport express stops directly at this hotel. Just pay to the driver. Really convenient for this one, about 1hr30mins to Incheon Airport.

The hotel is a bit old, but it is very old. The pool in the room is a bit damp, and when you go upstairs to the room, you will smell like a sauna. The room can see the Namsan Tower

Amazing location (right beside myeongdong streets), staff and services were excellent as well. Not to mention the comprehensive gym. One of the better hotels I have stayed, would definitely visit if I am coming back to Seoul.

The area feels lively yet is still a comfortable place to relax in the evenings. ### Rooms: 5/5 We were all very impressed with the rooms. The double rooms were spacious and well-designed, offering plenty of room to move around even with luggage. The king room was especially luxurious, with a large, comfortable bed and a modern, elegant design. All rooms were spotlessly clean and well-maintained throughout our stay. The amenities provided were top-notch, including high-quality toiletries and a well-stocked minibar. ### Perks: 4.5/5 A nice touch was the free drinks offered to Marriott members. It was a great perk after a long day of sightseeing—perfect for relaxing in the hotel’s chic lounge area. Whether it was a cocktail or a refreshing juice, this little extra made our stay feel even more special. ### Service: 4.5/5 The staff were friendly and professional, making check-in and check-out seamless. They were also attentive when we had inquiries or needed assistance with directions or transportation. Service overall was efficient, with staff always available to help with any requests. ### Facilities: 4.5/5 Le Méridien has a variety of amenities, including a fitness center and an elegant dining area. We didn’t spend too much time at the hotel, but it was reassuring to know that there were several high-end options available for meals or relaxation in the evenings. The hotel’s interior is modern and stylish, with a very welcoming atmosphere. ### Overall Impression: 5/5 Our stay at Le Méridien Seoul, Myeongdong, was fantastic. The hotel’s location in the bustling Myeongdong area made it perfect for exploring, while the spacious, clean rooms and thoughtful perks like the free drinks for Marriott members added extra value. The service was friendly and professional, and we felt well taken care of during our time there. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Seoul and would absolutely stay here again. It’s a great choice for both business and leisure travelers.

The stay was great overall. They also provide three charging cables which I like. They don’t provide toiletries like toothbrush and all but it was alright with me. The only downside is that it would be good if a separate reception can be available at the executive tower after 10pm cos it’s quite troublesome. Other than that, this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed.

Great location - very close to City Hall subway station, walking distance to Namdaemun and Myeongdong and then cool nightlife scene alone the river. The roads around City Hall are close and traffic jammed due to protests on th weekend, so keep that in mind if you have to leave or arrive in a car. They don't offer free toiletries anymore, but there is a vending machine in the lobby for those extra items. The door in our room 300 was a little hard to close and you'd basically had to slam it to close it properly but the room was very clean and had good cable TV. Nice bakery cafe place in the lobby and it's right near Starbucks and across the street from an Olive Young, so there's already lots of shopping opportunities nearby.
