The accommodations, service, friendly atmosphere, and food offerings could not have been better. We stayed in the Loft with a nice balcony facing the beautiful hills on the opposite side of the ski mountain. Tranquil, quiet, and serene. Best sleep we have had in years. The hotel shuttle to the gondolas were so easy to get. They are scheduled often, but even when we missed one, the driver (sometimes the owner), would hop in to the van and off we went. The breakfast each morning was delicious and had virtually everything you could want. The guests were very nice and willing to strike up a conversation, If you are worried about not being fluent in Italian; not to worry. The desk staff and the restaurant staff are all able to communicate in English, or so it seemed. The picture of the spa and pool area do not do it justice. Absolutely beautiful. You enter the outdoor salt water pool from the inside, so you don't have to feel the shock of the cold air. For those who feel that the number 1 need for a hotel is cleanliness, you will find everything clean, very clean! We are regular travelers and discriminating when it comes to restaurants and hotels and would rate this hotel 5 Stars based on our overall experience. Perhaps it wouldn't qualify for 5 stars based on the strict criteria, but this hotel had everything that we wanted and more. Thank you Oliver and everyone else that made our stay a trip of a lifetime (that we hope to repeat again next year).

Wow, what an amazing hotel and spa! The most perfect hotel after a day of skiing. Great service from the moment we walked through the doors. Have a token for a welcome drink upon arrival and shown straight to room to get settled. Receptionists were lovely and helpful. Daniela serving us drinks was amazing, great service. Beers beers beers 😃 👍🏻 Food in the hotel was amazing also. Highly recommend the fillet. Spa was amazing. Provided with robes in the room for the week and towels in a cute little basket that you can take down into the spa with you. Outdoor pool was a really amazing touch. Hotel even provides a private shuttle bus to and from the main lifts in selva, again the info given on arrival so you know the times. The team driving guests back and fore done an amazing job. Honestly highly recommend this hotel. Would 100% stay again! Rooms are amazing, we had a suite and it was just incredible. Thank you Portillo! xxx

An absolutely fantastic family operated hotel, with real class and history. Great service all around, food was really good and location worked well. Definitely would go again. Staying in a suite with a roll-away: note the roll-away is really not suitable for people over 170 or 70kg. Primarily for youths.

This hotel is outstanding. The quality of our stay was just superb, from the warm welcome, the friendly staff at breakfast, smiles every time we returned at the end of a hike….nothing was too much trouble. The spa is wonderful, the cube pool outside (heated) is just stunning with views of the mountains and as we were there in the last two weeks of the season the hotel was wonderfully quiet which meant we often had it to ourselves. This our third return to Hotel Portillo and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Sëlva. Highly, highly recommend.

The hotel is gorgeous, but made incredibly special by the wonderfully attentive staff. We booked a standard lodge room which was very spacious and had a balcony with great views of the mountains. The spa with indoor pool and outdoor (heated/jacuzzi type) pool was wonderful, particularly after daily summer hikes in the mountains. I thought a bit of a shame though, no spa treatments on offer in the summer. The walk into town was just 10 mins or 15 to venture further. The hotel provides free bus tickets that take you up and down the valley to the various towns and lifts. Very welcome. Hotel Portillo was a wonderful haven to come home to after a full day trekking or cycling in the mountains. Breakfast had everything you could ask for. Very good selection . Particular thanks to Georgia on reception who was just so lovely, helpful and welcoming every time we came in and out. You really did feel ‘at home’. But all of the staff: management, reception, bar, cleaning, breakfast were incredibly friendly, helpful & professional. We loved our stay, which was made even more special as we were celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary. We hope to return again one day.

Unbelievable service, we got engaged the day after we arrived and the hotel went the extra mile at every opportunity to make our stay the best it could have been. Unbelievable room, beautiful spa, excellent breakfast. Both the manager and the staff went out of their way to be friendly and make sure everything was perfect! Honestly the best experience of a hotel that we have ever had the pleasure of staying at 5/5 in every department, not a single negative

We have just left after a 2 night stay in the junior suite. Absolutely divine from start to finish. The comfort, decor and such friendly and helpful staff. They made our stay for our honeymoon an unforgettable one. Highly reccommed.
