Oyster Pointe

First, we cannot say how wonderful our week there is and has been for many years. Our experience has always been beyond wonderful. The reason for the rating is strictly about customer service. For whatever reason, I have had to call the office a little more than usual this past year, with questions. I know that Friday and Saturday, check in days, are very busy, and so have tried to call mid week but still get the same treatment. We know many of the staff that have been in the office for many years, (thank you Pam!), and sadly I do not know the name of the person that is most likely to answer when you call at this time. You can tell it is her if she is immediately curt, rude and overall unfriendly. If I ask to speak to anyone else I am told that they are all busy. Since it is our only complaint, we should be happy, but as it has happened many times now, I felt that I must post this. Otherwise-go go go for the most fun, awesome, week you will ever have!

Our unit smelled like old cigarette smoke. The sinks back up and foam with bubbles when the people upstairs use their water. Internet speeds are so low that my cell phone keeps disconnecting and the networks disappear entirely. Resort admits they have locked down the Internet since last year when we're here. No longer to use a Fire Stick or stream Netflix or have a GotoMeeting. No blankets in the units, just bedspreads. We enjoyed this resort last year but not this year. We won't be wasting our points to come back here

We were looking for a nice getaway near the Atlantic, and thought this would fit the bill. We were 20 minutes away from beaches, so that part was perfect. The resort’s grounds are very nice and you can walk to several restaurants, which is also good. Now for the bad. We were on the top floor of a 2 story unit, with a family of 8-10 below us. We could hear the kids running around, slamming the doors, all the time when we were in the unit. This place is a haven for large families, who take over the pool and the common grounds. There was no peace and quiet to be found anywhere. Kids would run you down with their skateboards and trikes, which actually weren’t even allowed. The families left empty bottles and trash on the common grounds, which I have never encountered at a timeshare before. Many other units had large families in them, with loud music playing on the balconies, and overall just being obnoxious. One of the nearby restaurants had live music so loud we could hear it in our unit. We were totally disappointed in our stay here.

Quite peaceful walkways, on water, boats available at resort for rent, great fishing area, nice parks and relaxing places to enjoy this area

Inquire about boat rental, it's a deal. The resort and surrounding area check a lot of boxes. I like the restaurants right across the street, pool and boat. The children enjoyed the kid friendly restaurant, pool, hot tub and other resort provided games/areas/activities. Bring your firestick for at night.

We really enjoyed our time at Oyster Pointe, the resort is very well set out with low rise units, lovely big balconies and the unit was very clean and well maintained. It was very well equipped. Just across the road is the inlet with beautiful views. There are quite a few places to eat within walking distance, the food and service at Captain Hirams was good, we also really enjoyed the Tiki bar/restaurant a few minutes walk along the front. My husband used the public fishing pier next to the boat launch a few times. It was a shame that the pier belonging to the resort was out of action due to it being revamped as ordinarily the resort offers small boats for $100 per week. All in all a great place.

Very nice place, very nice staff. Very accommodating to all your needs. Walking distance to the docks on the river. Walking distance to nice restaurants and bars. Boat ramp is less than one mile away.

We missed out on our trip last year because of the Covid threat but gave it to our kids who live in Florida. They totally loved it and visited us while we were there this year. We were there for two weeks. We checked in after three days of sedentary travel and were initially concerned with the second floor unit because of my wife's joint replacements. Activity solved that problem and we LOVED our second floor unit's view, air flow and privacy. The service staff we dealt with were OUTSTANDING! From the security guy Alan (sp?) to the maintenance supervisor Scott to the cleaning ladies and the office staff we were treated like we were special! Obviously the ownership values their employees and guests! During our stay the queen mattresses were all upgraded along with the cable changing to HD boxes. The area was fun and we'd love to go back again for MORE!
