Ballard Inn

While the rooms look as nice as their sister hotel, the Hotel Ballard . It is impossible to sleep! The larger room and bed was so loud with street noise , no AC , and the Fan they provided was very quiet so it wouldn’t block out the noise. The other room we had was a twin cubby. I knew it had a shared bathroom, but again the bed was so short a normal adult couldn’t stretch out their feet. I am only 5’8” and my feet hit the wall at the bottom of the bed. Again very loud with paper thin walls. I could hear the person in the room next door unzip their suitcase. These rooms are overpriced! If you like to sleep do not stay here. Consider yourself warned.

It's unacceptable that they can charge $300+ for the room we had. The smallest space I've ever had in a room (although online it appeared spacious). No amenities. And directly located on the street, with a complimentary boom box serenade at various times during the night until I called their sister hotel (Ballard Hotel) to complain. Would not recommend staying here for any reason.

I have stayed at the Ballard INN before and thought it was fine but not this time. First off the bugs (Ants) were in my bed on the walls and on the furniture. Second I know the building was built in the early 1900s but a portable AC or window AC would help with the heat or at least a ceiling fan. Finally the check-in was a poor experience as while I was early so my room was not ready the front desk said they would call but I never heard from them so I just came back at around 3pm and found that yes it was ready just with ants. I do have to say that the staff is nice the decor is nice and the bathroom and showers were good. The hotel is cheap but probably not worth it.

My stay at Ballard Inn was nothing short of perfection. From the cozy accommodations to the impeccable service, it exceeded all expectations. I would highly recommend Ballard Inn to anyone looking for a memorable and indulgent getaway.

I wanted very much to like this hotel. Location is ideal but as others have commented, it is INCREDIBLY NOISY on a good night. On a bad night, when the room next door is occupied by a group of very drunk and disorderly young people, it is difficult to feel safe let alone sleep. Between 10pm and 1:30am on my first night at the Inn, I was kept awake by loud yelling and stomping and arguing outside my door and in their room. I called the front desk three times asking that they manage the situation. I did hear the night manager come over twice asking the guests to keep the noise down. On my last call around 1am, I was told the police were being called. I know this was probably an isolated event, but it was not handled well by the staff. No one reached out to me the next day to ask how I was, or to address the situation. I gave them one more day and then after no contact, I went to the Hotel Ballard desk to speak with management. When I explained to the young woman I am the guest in the room next door, she got a look of knowing on her face and told me they were expecting me to say something. When the manager did come out, I told her about my experience and asked for a discount on my stay. She replied they did everything they were required to do, which was evict the guests and never allow them back, and she was under no obligation to make it up to me. She denied my request. I worked in the service/hospitality industry for a long, long time and even if something was not necessarily my fault, I always made sure my clients left happy. A gesture of 20% off my bill (about $50) would have gone a long way to show me they care about their guests' experience and they take responsibility to make sure it is a positive one. A small discount would have extended good will and would have been the right thing to do. Instead I was dismissed and made to feel as if it was insulting of me to ask for such a thing. Poorly handled Ballard Inn. Very unprofessional. I can not recommend this as a reliable place to stay.

Room was clean and nicely decorated. However, it was NOISY! Bar patrons are easily heard down on the street until 2:30am. Then the garbage truck came at both 5:30 and 7:00am to empty dumpsters. We should have known when we got in the room and saw ear plugs on the nightstand. No mention on the Ballard Inn website of the noise. It seems like false advertising or a con job.

This is truely a storybook Inn. Right in the heart of 'Good Time Ballard.' I had a meeting in the city and did not want to stay in that dump of a newly-squat pad for the half-homeless. Came across this gem. Great location. Loved having a pricate bathroom and a portable A/C unit. Across the street from all the bars and resturants. Surpriseingly fantastic, Sunday mornimg we woke up to the farmers market in front of the Inn. So much fun. This experience made the business trip 100% Epic. InnKeeper Michael (In Training) was a true gentleman. Extremely kind and genuine. Offered his name and servicd eachtime we saw him. We will be back to 'Good Time' Ballard Inn, Thx Michael (In Training)

This is a quirky little hotel in an old former bank building. One of its best features is location - on a shady corner in the charming, hip Ballard neighborhood, just steps from lots of great restaurants and bars. My room was a bit weird, in that you didn't access it from the hotel lobby, but from a door on a side street that opened right into the room. It had two windows, but was still kind of dark, because of those lovely shade trees. No AC, just a fan, which was not a problem at all when I was there, but would be a problem in a heat wave. The room was small but pleasant, with a mini-fridge. Pretty good storage space, but no closet and no place to hang things up. Housekeeping came every day, which I didn't expect in this era. I had almost no interaction with the staff during my stay, because of not entering through the lobby. But based on how helpful they were in getting my reservation the way I wanted it ahead of time, I give them five stars. The hotel provided earplugs - I don't know why. It was never noisy (except for a few seconds when people were talking as they walked by right outside the door). But I was there on week nights, and maybe it gets noisy on the weekends? I don't know. The parking situation: Usually costs $25 or something like that, but I got it free as part of a promotion. It's half a block away, in the basement of their sister hotel, the (much fancier) Hotel Ballard. You go down a steep, tightly turning ramp to several small parking areas. (I never went below the highest one, as there were always spaces there.) I would absolutely stay here again if I go back to Seattle, but if you're put off by no AC and a little weirdness, try the sister hotel, the Hotel Ballard. (Actually, if you're put off by weirdness, you probably don't want to stay in Ballard anyway.)

When I arrived she told me my room was out the door around the corner half a block. All booked up inside. I had booked my reservation a month before and was not told this. It was directly on the street. People banged on my window all night as they walked past. The door did not have an extra chain or bar which would have made me feel a little more comfortable. One window was on the street and the second looked out to an alley. There were not any wood rod in the windows to insure they could not be opened. I was told that if I needed something I would have to come back to the hobby... a half block away... at night?? The phone had no service in the room. This was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Do not stay here
