Union Gables Bed & Breakfast

We booked for New Year’s Eve (1/31/2024) as we have in the past. Matt is exceptional with guess relations and accommodations. Right from the beginning, Matt started us out right. The charm of this historical gem exudes inner serenity from the moment you park your car in their off-street parking lot. It’s on a historical street with nostalgic history in walking distance to all the NYE First Night festivities and fireworks that Saratoga Springs has masterfully cultivated for the many years. Our room named Linda was huge with an abundance of windows to bring in natural light and views of Union Street and all the other stunning Victorian properties. Chad was “the hostess with the mostest” ensuring we enjoyed a delicious home cooked meal prepared perfectly by his son, the Chef! Always an enjoyable carefree stay at this B&B Glenn K!

Stayed in the Bill room very cozy great balcony facing Union avenue Innkeeper Chad and his assistant TJ were great delicious breakfast Chad was very informative great story teller which my Wife and myself enjoyed listening to. Had great few nights very good dinners got to use the pool all 3 days in-between thunderstorms but we had a great getaway and will definitely return to Union Gables.

An historic mansion experience on the incredible Union Ave. The staff was freindly and helpful, allowed early checkin. Special shout out to Chad, the general manager. He clearly loves his job and offered tips on how he keeps the flower baskets overflowing. The garden is spectacularly kept. (Too bad it was raining on our arrival day. We were not able to use the pool. However, not many other air bnb's can offer this!) The included breakfast was a simple variety, enough to get you going for the day. I enjoyed oatmeal, fruit and egg on Day one, Eggs, bacon and potatoes on Day two. You can check out the waffles! Yum on the coffee. Lovely cake & pastries available in the lobby all day. We stayed in the carriage house with ample room for a family of 4-5. Two king bedrooms, 2 baths AND a kitchen plus sitting room for less than 2 rooms in the house. Be sure to stroll up and down Union Ave to take in the abundant magnificent Victorian architecture. If you're into horse racing, the famous Saratoga Race Track is a 4 minute walk, as well as their beautiful Museum. Visit Congress Park, a 3 minute walk. 6 minute easy access to Broadway, the main drag with so many choices of shops and restaurants, it would take weeks to properly visit all. We did a "small plate" crawl and sampled several of the easily walkable in-town stops.

The staff and the manager are awesome. They were extremely helpful and attenuative. We stayed in the Henry Suite which was wonderful and close to the pool and has a patio. The manager spent time talking to us and even took notes! How often do you see that?!

The fact that they wouldn't return our call regarding an early check-in, and then the unkempt state of the lawn and gardens (especially compared to the neighborhood) flavored our opinion from the start. However, the breakfast was great, the room fairly comfortable and the fireplace kept us warm and cozy. Location is its best quality and we walked most everywhere we went.

Love, love, love this Inn! We stayed here in June for my daughter's wedding and needed to plan this trip back. The Inn is beautiful and so comfortable, but the people who work here are the best. Chad feels like an old friend, giving great suggestions on what to do in and around Saratoga and making the best breakfast! What a treat it was to be back here! Can't wait to plan our next visit!
