Aethos Saragano

I hope my feedback helps not only travellers but above all the Aethos team for everything in the future. I may be very critical, but I work in the luxury industry myself, travel a lot and attach great importance to perfect service, especially on holiday. The property is fantastic. It has a wonderful location with absolute tranquillity. It is important to know that locals also live in the village. On the Aethos site, it appears that the entire complex concerns the hotel. This is not the case. Only a small part belongs to Aethos. The reception didn't seem very professional. There was no one there to take our suitcases, the briefing was rather casual and had no professional touch. A word from the hotel management would have been nice - if they even exist? We were given room number 9. The furnishings at Aethos are very tasteful. Big praise to the interior designers. It would have been great to see more of it in room 9. We didn’t feel the Aethos vibe in this room. To everyone - I can't really recommend this room. The layout in the room is a bit difficult as there is no space for clothes and suitcases. There is no balcony or terrace and it has no view. So avoid no. 9! It is the less attractive one comparing what you see on the website. Aethos in Seragano basically only lives from its restaurant. Everything else is rather neglected. The complex is getting on in years. You can see this especially when you look at the details. The reception looks unkempt, not tidy and the items for sale there are also carelessly curated. The outdoor area next to the restaurant is very carelessly designed. Tables are placed randomly on the terrace, no flowers on the tables, no bar, no drinks service and above all no staff to make your stay pleasant. You have to look for someone for every drink. If you are lucky the restaurant is open. Maybe we were unlucky and most of the staff was in sick leave? The restaurant is very good. The staff are more than friendly, even if they seem overwhelmed by the small number of tables and make this clear. (Should be avoided) The food is of course excellent, but the portions are unfortunately too small for the price, so you have to order more bread (extra cost) to fill up. Would be nice if there were normal portions. It is interesting that the staff in the restaurant wear a very tasteful uniform. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff do not. Again, please don't misunderstand, but the promise that Aethos makes on its website is a different one. A certain luxury requires a certain elitism, unfortunately there is no other way nowadays. The path to the pool is unkempt. The pool house is dirty, the furniture in it is broken, the gym equipment is dirty and pushed into the corner. More like a storeroom. The toilet facilities are extremely unkempt. The showers in particular are not in good condition. You would like the same standard here as in your room with the same products and above all fresh towels. The same applies to the outside s

Our experience at Aethos Saragano exceeded expectations and became the highlight of our trip to Italy. The personal service from all the staff was amazing. We participated in the cooking class with Delphina. She taught us homemade pasta and ragu the Umbrian way. The food was impeccable from breakfast to the wild boar stew and truffle pasta. But the best... nothing can beat the beautiful view.

I went with a group of friends and what a magical and amazing place! They have a wide choice of activities that we were all able to do together , like cooking classes, foraging, arching, and wine tasting. A super friendly staff that makes you feel like home. The rooms have beautiful views 💛🧡. A truly tranquil peaceful place that I will definitely visit again.

We stayed at Aethos Saragano a week in the lead up to our wedding in Umbria. The entire setting for the hotel is magical, the views are absolutely stunning and the terrace area for dinner, over looking the rolling hills at sun set was just an absolute dream! Communication from the reception was great- they whatsapped us ahead of arrival to check what time we would arrive and gave us plenty of information regarding parking and the restaurant and pool accessibility. We can’t fault the service in any way. The restaurant staff and the house keeping staff were just wonderfully friendly and helpful. We loved that the restaurant had set times for lunch and dinner, it was nice to have this routine during our week stay here and the food was faultless… one of the most incredible meals we have ever experienced was when we ate here for dinner on our first night. The pool area is lovely and relaxing. Yes, a lot of mosquitos but that can’t be helped, just be prepared! The pool was a great way to cool off and relax. We often felt like we had it to ourselves which was lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing break from the hectic reality of life… just come here and switch off. It will be worth it!

The hotel is situated amongst a really sweet, small Italian village. Our room was lovely - modern and clean with amazing views and the breakfast we had was also great. We were however a bit disappointed to find out that the restaurant was closed on Mondays (and there is nowhere else in walking distance) which we thought should have been made more clear upon booking. The staff were however very helpful in saving us some food from their lunchtime service. The only other thing we were disappointed with was the pool - despite it's lovely setting it was full of locals (a family of around 15 people) which coupled with the overwhelming amount of mosquitos, made it less relaxing than we had hoped. I would go back but think there could be some improvements or better communication.

Authentic immersive Umbrian experience. Relaxing and engaging. Quiet and peaceful. You feel you’re part of the Saragano village community when you stay there. The views towards the rolling hills are rejuvenating. The apartment suite we stayed has lovely modern interiors. The Ceci restaurant terrace has lovely views to the hills. Delfina , the chef , had all Umbrian food on the menu. Paul had great recommendations on where to go every day. Highly recommend it.
