5 stars is not enough for this hotel. I’ll start with my experience: when I finally decided on Greece being this year’s big trip back in April (a dream destination for over 20 years), my priorities were my lodging in Santorini (and table bookings in Mykonos). I knew the summer Greece travel planning way of having to book way in advance before everything sells out so I booked an amazing air BNB back in Apr’23 (because Cavo Tagoo was sold out since Jan). As the summer was passing and I was getting more and more excited, I didn’t think the air Bnb was going to cut it. Already being August, I was stupid to rethink my decision but kept searching hotels anyway. I came across 3 places that spiked my fancy, but none had suites available to my liking. I found Abyss. Perfect location, and a honeymoon suite available. I booked it. There were minimal reviews on TA, but what was there was all perfection. For whatever reason I kept checking daily on website to see if any other suites opened. To my surprise, on 8/17, the executive suite opened. I immediately cancelled my honeymoon suite and rebooked to executive suite - and this may have been the most amazing decision I ever made (spite the honeymoon suite and everything and anything about this hotel, in general, already being amazing, but the EXECutive SUITE being absolutely 150%+ what I dreamed of for what I imagined in Santorini). For starters, Elena, the front desk agent, was so attentive, helpful, insightful and kind through all my annoying question emails from august through my stay. When we arrived, she was just so kind and hilarious, showing us all around the suite and giving us suggestions and advice. Upon any request (wine opener, towels, etc), they were at our door within minutes. In addition, she organized our transfers from santorini airport and to the port, which both were a very clean and beautiful Mercedes (vs the big tourist vans everyone else seemed to have - 50EUR each way). Every morning we had the most amazing breakfast delivered to our balcony. The location of this hotel is perfection. Everyone raves about Santorini and Oia - it wqs beautiful, but I would never want to stay within the pedestrian only “famous” area of Oia. Our hotel was a 4 minute walk to the pedestrian area (which was beautiful but 100% American tourists and not the luxury and glam I imagined) - so it was amazing to be 4 mins walk from here which offered a heightened sense of beauty and privacy - but still in middle of caldera. Finally - the room: As mentioned, We stayed in the executive suite. There is not 1 photo or video that will do the justice of this suite, with icing on cake being the $5,499 B&O speaker in every room - with sound proof walls bc of the concrete. Our pool was perfect temperature; the room was immaculately clean; the super king bed was so comfy, the windows were black out, the shower amenities were abundant and quality, the (dual ceiling) shower pressure(s) were amazing. I could go on for another 10
