Sun Beach

The hotel was OK, some issues we had were very quickly remedied by the always smiling, accommodating and friendly staff. The hotel has had a lick of paint and is generally OK, and whilst there's no denying it's age, the rooms are pretty standard, albeit a little on the small side if there's more than two of you. The plug sockets are plentiful, but are in awkward places. There is a hairdryer in the shower room though. There's a workable kitchenette, but you'll have to learn to juggle between using the kettle, the toaster, and the hob. It's one at a time. Also take a fish-slice/spatula... there's only spoons so flipping an egg isn't going to happen without it being scrambled! The rooms we stayed in both had small shower rooms, albeit the shower was a decent size. In one room was a full size basin, however the other was a hand-basin, with a toilet behind the door which whilst tight and not ideal, was functional. Note that if you leave the shower door open when leaving the heat-alarm in the kitchen will sound and will scare the living daylights out of you! The name is a little deceiving though, there's not always sun, and you'll struggle to see the sea unless you're on the 5th floor or above. The beach isn't far though. Owing to its location, it is VERY loud of an evening. OK if you're on a lads/girls getaway or stag/hen do or have a penchant for the falling down liquid, but if you're after a quiet get-away this is probably NOT the place for you. The hotel sits into the side of a very steep hill, so if your mobility is an issue, this is also not the place for you. Yes there are lifts, but there's too many steps and changes of levels to be properly comfortable. Local amenities are decent, with a well stocked supermarket just a couple hundred yards away but again, it's downstairs so mobility could be an issue.

The ducks get to use the pool too. Very central. Very noisy at nightime because of closeness to street. Good location for shops and supermarkets. No mattress protectors on beds. No shortage of sun beds or umbrellas. Temperature of shower Very hard to regulate, either Very hot or cold.

We stayed here in April for a family break with extended family to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary. The reception process was quick, the room allocated was modern with good amenities such as air con in the living and bedroom area, fridge, kettle, hobs, microwave, TV with BBC 1 & 2 Ch4 and Ch5. The beds were comfy the shower was great. The facilities were good for sun loungers, pool bar however the pool was quite cold (should be heated) however it was April and the sun warm. I would recommend the sun beach to families or couples wanting an apartment in a great location in Santa Ponsa.

Lovely apartment very spacious and spotless clean. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. Plenty of sunbeds at the pool and nice pool bar. The location is perfect on the centre of the strip. Thoroughly enjoy my stay will definitely be back.

Another great stay at sunbeach. Have stayed so many times. Would not stay anywhere else. From you arrived the staff are lovely and go out of their way to accommodate you. The rooms spotless, beds comfortable, everything you need for self catering. The views are great pool bar nice and lovely seating area. Again lovely staff. We are back September go twice a year. Central to everything and taxi's just outside to get to the square. Our favourite bar on the strip Sean's Place. See you all soon

Fantastic apartments right in the thick of Santa Ponsa. Air con,free safe,pool,comfy beds,good clean rooms and overall a fantastic experience. Check in easy and quick, I had a studio apartment with no balcony,that suited me . Good , spacious room with a great standard of cleaning and good,modern furniture. Right on the strip of restaurants and shops,just up from the beach,book,you won't regret it.
