Cala San Miguel Ibiza Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton

We never write reviews, but I feel compelled to share our experience to help others avoid the same disappointment we faced. We booked Cala San Miguel Ibiza Resort expecting a 5-star experience, especially since it was our honeymoon. Unfortunately, it fell short in nearly every way. To start with, the staff were consistently rude and unhelpful. Communication was a major issue – despite the resort advertising English-speaking staff, we struggled to get basic information across. When we asked for help or clarification, we were often met with blank stares or shrugged shoulders. The website claims there are 5 restaurants on site. In reality, only 2 were open. Both were overpriced and underwhelming. We had paid extra for "Club Member" access, which supposedly includes priority booking for activities. Yet, when we tried to sign up for three different ones, we were told each time they were fully booked – without any attempt to accommodate or offer alternatives. Despite notifying the hotel in advance that it was our honeymoon, there was no acknowledgment whatsoever. Not even a simple greeting or note – nothing. We also spoke to a family group there for a wedding who had experienced the exact same issues: poor service, misleading advertising, and a general lack of organization. To make matters worse, the resort has two separate reception areas, which caused confusion during our transfer. We were dropped at the wrong one and, again, the staff offered no assistance in helping us figure it out. In short, this is not a 5-star resort by any stretch of the imagination. It’s disorganized, overrated, and lacking even the most basic hospitality. We left feeling frustrated and disappointed – certainly not how anyone wants to remember their honeymoon. Save your money and avoid this place.

Visited this hotel for a short 4 night solo trip from 14th - 18th June to switch off from work. It was the perfect hotel! Great location, gym and pool scene.

Gorgeous hotel. We were looking for a luxurious girls holiday retreat and this was perfect . Beautiful rooms. Highly recommend.

Fantastic hotel with several pools and friendly ambiance. It was everything we wish for. The spot is perfect and nature has made a good job. Fine restaurants with variety and music at dinner and during the day at the main pool. Live music that is , with very inspiring singers.

During our stay at this amazing hilton hotel, one of the absolute highlights was the exceptional service we received from Álvaro at the pool bar. From the very first day, he stood out with his professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail. Whether we were ordering a quick drink or relaxing by the pool with cocktails, Álvaro always made sure we were taken care of with a smile. His energy and dedication were unmatched, and compared to other staff members (who were also great), Álvaro truly went above and beyond every single time. Thanks to him, our experience felt even more special and memorable. If you visit this hotel, make sure to stop by the pool bar, you’ll be lucky if Álvaro is there to serve you! Visited here for a week 17th to 24th May, had a pool view club room. Positives, great view from the balcony and room was large and well equipped, comfy bed, sofa, chairs on the patio. Shower with great water pressure and nice shower gel / shampoo. 2 free cans of water per day (2 more in the fridge at €6 euro a can) Negatives, room on first night felt damp, walls and bedlinen, tried to heat the room with the aircon but didn’t work, found out after summer months the heating element of the air conditioner is switched off. Kettle and coffee machine in the room, only most days was left one pyramid tea bag breakfast tea or one rooibos, most of the week only left decaf coffee pods (2) Iron is a clothes steamer not a traditional iron. Room came with an ‘enhanced mini bar’ which was chargeable 20cl vodka €30 small 37cl tequila €60, found this and the other prices overpriced when the mini market accross the road sold the same vodka for €9 and for less than €5 the shop sold 6 bottles of water. Also opted for half board, only on check in they didn’t have this on file so had to show them on my booking. The ‘club’ didn’t offer half board so this had to be taken on the 8th floor of the main hotel every evening which meant a walk past a building site for the new beach club and a scaffolded lift tower not yet completed you accessed by a gate screened behind bamboo fencing. (Not a 5 star experience) evening meal first 3 nights was the same food every night, service was chaotic and took way too long to get the mains which had to be ordered, even when there were only 4 tables, the delays and food are not 5 star. Ate outside of the hotel 4th night, night 5,6,7 food choice for main was slightly better in terms of option if you were a meat eater, vegetarians have little choice. Most other half board places have been to offer soft drinks / house wine as part of the hb option, here you only get water. We had a Caipirinha cocktail the first night which was €16 each! Wine was €8 a glass, soft drinks €5. Breakfast for club guests is served in a separate restaurant, again whilst the staff are lovely, service isn’t up to the 5 star experience the hotel reports to be. 3 out of the 7 days tea and coffee from order to receipt was delivered with delays that meant we’d finished breakfast. Again menus is the same and nothing special. View from the restaurant was nice. Grounds of the hotel were really nice and well kept, a lot of the soundness around the smaller ‘club’ pool near the food van were stained and needed a good clean as well as the side tables, again not the 5 star experience. Maybe due to the beginning of the season the food van wasn’t operational nor were a couple of restaurants. We had a hire car and parked in the hotels designated car park, we didn’t use for a couple of days and when we did found someone had reversed into the passenger rear door and damaged the car, this cost us an additional €400 to have repaired, there were no cameras in the car park t
