Excelsior Dolomites Life Resort

This was our fourth visit to the Dolomites region but our first to Kronplatz (San Vigilio). The hotel was wonderful from start to finish. Clean, beautiful, friendly. The food was delicious and the cocktails and drinks lovely too. Beautiful offerings at breakfast, a wide selection of options in the afternoons too. And dinner - sublime. I’m coeliac and my gluten free diet was not a problem at all. I had as much choice as everyone else. The ski locker room was great and to be able to ski in and out was bliss! The spa area was a delight after a hard day of skiing. Thank you to all the wonderful staff for helping to make our trip such a memorable one. In particular, Luka behind the bar and Florin in the restaurant. Thank you. Can’t wait to return.

A Truly Exceptional Stay at Excelsior Hotel in San Viglio We stayed at the Excelsior Hotel in San Viglio and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We booked a Family Duplex Room, which was spacious, comfortable, and ideal for a family—beautifully designed with plenty of room to relax. The service throughout was excellent. One standout example: we were running late on arrival, and the hotel proactively called us to offer dinner delivered to our room so we wouldn’t miss out—an incredibly thoughtful touch. We booked an e-bike tour with Mr. Call, along with our two children, and it was one of the highlights of the trip. He guided us through truly spectacular landscapes, and we had an absolute blast on the bikes. Highly recommend this activity! We also participated in the #DolomitesWall, the mountain climbing wall at the hotel which the kids powered around - and we tentatively followed. A little bit of onsite adrenaline. The adults-only infinity pool is simply breathtaking—the view over the Dolomites is unforgettable. Meanwhile, the children’s pool is just as impressive, with high-end features that kept our kids entertained for hours. The spa facilities, including steam rooms and saunas, were clean and luxurious. Both my husband and I had massages (€100 each) which were excellent and fairly priced. Fitness-wise, the hotel offers two gym areas. The cardio and weights space is compact, but more than sufficient if you’re active during the day. The Fit & Fun Zen Zone, is a gorgeous workout space with a jaw-dropping view. We opted for the ¾ board (breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner) and found it to be great value for money. The food was of solid quality with a good selection each day. A real gem of the hotel is the cocktail bar—it would hold its own in any 5-star hotel in London or New York. The cocktails were the best we’ve had in a very long time, and the bartenders were clearly very experienced. In short, the Excelsior offers a fantastic blend of luxury, family-friendly amenities, and unforgettable experiences in the heart of the Dolomites. We would return in a heartbeat!

A truly magical stay in the stunning dolomites! The facilities and amenities are incredible, our room was a new garden room which was spacious, luxurious and well thought out for a ski holiday. The new luxury spa and gym were great to use after a day on the slopes to unwind and relax. The ski in/out, ski school and ski hire was so easy to sort, this is skiing made easy at the highest level. The food was very good and varied, you had a nice choice of options for dinner along with a good breakfast and lunch. The drinks, in particular the cocktails, were on another level; there are cocktails and there are cocktails! Their signature cocktails are thoughtful and well prepared using their own homemade ingredients, some of which, take 6 months to prepare. What really made this holiday special though was the incredible staff, who were happy, so passionate and so friendly. Literally nothing was too much trouble. Whether it was Simona looking after us in the restaurant or Luka and the bar staff preparing their take on a Mai Tai for us, we were made to feel very special. We have made some very special memories here, some new friends and are now emotionally connected to this wonderful hotel. It is was clear the staff are very happy working here and there were a vast number of repeat guests; some we spoke to, were on their 9th year. The Call family have created a very special place here with a winning formula. Will we be back? We have already reserved our room for next year. The view from the hotel is amazing. You can sit there drinking afternoon tea and have some cakes or join the interesting activities organised by the hotel. You can reach the most famous points all within 1.5 hours. You can also have packed lunch if you cannot come back

This is our third stay at the Excelsior and it is still as fantastic as ever.All the Staff are fabulous and do all they can to make your holiday one to remember.The food is amazing with a varied choice on the menu.The bedrooms are so clean and comfortable and the Spa infinity pool has breathtaking views.The masseuse is very experienced and helped my aches and pains enormously.I can not fault this hotel or it’s staff.

I spend several nights on various occasions in this wonderful hotel. The rooms are very spacious and modern, the breakfast is excellent and you should really book half board as the dinner arrangements are fantastic. This hotel has a huge spa are and an interior pool. The hotel is located right next to the ski slope , which did not help us as we were there during the summer. The hotel is tugged away from the central square of san vigil. It is a 2 minute walk to the picturesque town center. You have amazing views from most of the rooms . I would return to Excelsior anytime !
