Mim Sotogrande Meliá Collection

I never write a review but have never experienced such poor service. We stay in a number of different hotels all over the world with different standards and high expectations for this in Sotogrande. The service is so poor, staff are rude and so so slow. The hotel is under staffed and the staff and not trained in how to manage customers. The rooftop and the pool are so small. They should not allow anyone to reserve sunbeds and should have staff that are multilingual to mange this. Famiiies were coming up to empty sunbeds being turned away by rude guests that had ‘reserved’ them. The room service menu had no basic food on it and the restaurant were unable to accommodate any alterations. Glasses in the bedroom were not cleaned after the cleaning service had been. This is a shame as the hotel is a really lovely setting and building.

2/5 The rooftop itself is beautiful, with fantastic views and a great atmosphere. Unfortunately, the service completely let the experience down. We ordered a bottle of champagne costing around £130, so naturally expected a certain level of hospitality. Instead, we were met with rude, dismissive service from our waiter, which was disappointing and unnecessary. Having worked in hospitality myself for many years, I understand how challenging the industry can be and rarely leave negative reviews. However, this was genuinely one of the poorest service experiences I’ve ever had. Great venues are remembered not just for their setting, but for how guests are treated, and sadly this experience fell well short. I sincerely hope the management addresses the service standards, because the rooftop deserves much better.

My wife and I where booked into this amazing hotel for 9 nights unfortunately we had to return home due to an emergency after 7 nights. We had just spent 3 nights in Seville and this was our downtime hotel. The hotel is definitely 5* maybe 5* plus just everything was luxury . We had a deluxe room with a view overlooking the marina and the view was worth the extra £. The room was luxury again even down to a warm toilet seat . The hotel was so helpful when we had to return home last minute and the two days we did not use we have as a credit so we are going to return in November for my wife's birthday. Outstanding hotel! We had a fantastic stay from start to finish. The room was beautifully decorated, with a stylish, modern design that felt luxurious and welcoming. The shower was one of the best we’ve ever used—powerful, spacious, and a real treat after a day out. A special thank you to Maria and Deborah, who were both exceptional. Their warm welcome, professionalism, and genuine care made our stay even more enjoyable. They are a real credit to the hotel. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a first-class stay.

Firstly the location is beautiful however you approach the exterior of the hotel to be greeted by lots weeds on the steps/garden and bird poo! Not at all welcoming! The interior has been beautifully decorated but the experience is sadly lacking in attention to detail! For example the roof top bar …. Setting is fabulous but you can’t have a drink until 1pm as the bar isn’t open? Not at all customer friendly or customer focused! Someone needs to walk the experience of the guest and then maybe they would understand why it is underwhelming?

Claustrophobic rooms with oversized prints and furniture. Service overall lacks warmth and the personal touch of a boutique hotel, what a shame. Rooftop bar was disappointing. Good breakfast.

WOW!!! We were looked after like royalty....thank you to all the team there who were so friendly and professional. The rooms are superb....everything you could think of - japanese toilets, lots of storage and hangers, beautiful marine views, the most comfy beds, linens and towels.....I could go on. The food in incredible and the cocktails are off the chart great and I would highly recommend. We will be back!

We stayed at Hotel MiM on 02/03/26 to celebrate our anniversary, and from the moment we arrived, it was pure perfection. We were warmly welcomed by the lovely Pascal, who quickly checked us in and delivered the most incredible surprise — we had been upgraded from the sea view suite I originally booked to the Signature MESSI Suite. And wow… what an extraordinary suite it was. The attention to detail was absolutely second to none. Every corner reflected luxury, style, and thoughtfulness. The team has done an amazing job with this hotel — it’s elegant, modern, and effortlessly luxurious. We genuinely didn’t want to leave. From start to finish, we felt completely looked after, and that made our anniversary even more special. Thank you for making it so memorable. We also dined at Hincha restaurant and had such a fantastic evening. The food was truly out of this world, and the restaurant staff were just as wonderful — attentive, friendly, and professional. It was the perfect way to round off a beautiful stay. We’re already counting down the days until our next visit. Mr & Mrs Eddison
