Cabañas Río Escondido en la Fortuna

Cabanas Rio Escondido (Hidden River Cabins) is a hidden gem just minutes from La Fortuna's main streets. It is very inexpensive to get here by their cab system. Considering the privacy and expansive outdoor space, spending less than $7 U.S. to take a short taxi ride is more than reasonable. Getting here from Monteverde: I took a shared shuttle from Monteverde here. The driver was unaware of this place because it is a newer hotel. Staff: I arrived to find the friendliest and most genuine staff I have met in Costa Rica. I was shown my apartment and given a tour of the grounds. Any questions I had were answered. What you will see: These are apartments located on grounds with pristine pools, nature, a creek, and places to lounge, outdoor entertainment spaces and much more. It is extremely quiet and peaceful, the only sounds being nature and pool fountains (there are three pools and jacuzzis). A great deal of care went into creating this beautiful space. Getting food: The staff were helpful with finding me transportation into town. There is a super market with a good selection of food located in downtown La Fortuna. It is literally 3 minutes away. It is an inexpensive way to vacation knowing you have your own kitchenette. Cabanas Rio Escondido is surrounded by lush trees and flowers. My apartment has two balconies each surrounded by palm trees and other vegetation I don't know the name of yet. If you are looking for a quiet getaway that is close to everything exciting to do in La Fortuna, this place is for you.
