Americas Best Value Inn-San Antonio/Lackland AFB

This motel advertises that it is “Lackland AFB” but is most definitely not! Just driving into the parking lot you get the feeling that something is wrong. To get into the office you must be buzzed in, all the time! The office personnel is behind a bullet proof plate glass window and all transactions are through a small lot at the bottom where you slide items underneath. I asked her if this was a bad area and she said yes. During my stay I was afraid that my car would be damaged or stolen. My room smelled like the smoking area of a bus stop. I complained about it but was told that I had requested it. She made no offer for me to change my room.The first time I got out of bed I stepped on a cockroach. I could go on but the bottom line is sleep in your car in a safe spot instead of this motel.
