The Weary Friar Inn

The friendly atmosphere, the professional attitude was excellent and above Trina and her team understood clearly my need, as I am deaf and lipreading for me was important. The room was welcoming, comfortable and clean. There isn't anything I would change or improve. It was a spotless and enjoyable service.

Tbh I have stayed here loads of times and from the first time to the present I have never had a problem. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. In fact the current bar manager (Holly) is a fantastic young lass. I now class Ryan and Trina as friends. They do help me with my food allergies too and which I may add is always quality. To me the place actually feels like home from home. The rooms are spacious and snug. If I actually had something to comment on is that I think the rooms are spacious I usually have could do with an arm chair. Other than that. Excellent

Character and Value Great stay - good food, good beer, friendly service, lovely location and characterful building - good value to boot

A weird mix, to start, it is a beautiful spot with lovely views next door to an old church. Nice warm welcome, lovely clean, comfortable room. The bed was comfortable, the area very quiet so expect a good sleep! There is a nice note about the new staff working so please be patient, but some basics were just missed. I watched tables being wiped down where the food was just brushed onto the floor, the tables themselves were sticky. I saw four tables go to the bar and ask to pay their bill. The food is ok, I would certainly debate how much is frozen food compared to the "home cooked" I just feel for the money asked to stay, a higher quality of food and basic service could be expected.

OK but not outstanding Friendly and helpful staff, An old and historic building, out of the way, beware the narrow Cornish roads. Stayed 2 nights, overall level of cleanlisness was average. Even though a resident, being asked to settle bill in restaurant before being able to sit outside for dessert was demeaning.
