Hotel Laurin

Wow! Hotel Laurin is a fabulous gem. The grounds are so beautiful and immaculately kept. The villa is stunning with many lovely seating areas and rooms to appreciate a variety of art. From the moment you pull in to when you drive away, the staff is incredibly attentive and kind. We chose a room with a beautiful balcony and lake front view. The bed was comfortable, and even with a full hotel, the room was super quiet and peaceful. The pool was sparkling clean, and I’d love to come back when it is warmer to use the pool and relax in the garden. The food was delicious. There were excellent options for breakfast, something to meet everyone’s needs! We had dinner twice at Magnolia, and hats off to the chef and the entire staff. They are so professional and attentive, making excellent recommendations with top notch flavor and presentation. There are many local wines on the list to compliment the regional flavors. Some highlights included a beautiful artichoke antipasti, the carbonara tortellini, the guinea fowl with truffle, and the filet. Every night for turndown service, they leave suggestions on things to do as well as a weather report. This led us to the Saturday market in town which is an easy walk through the town to Salo. The hotel is well located, easy to get around without a car. You can walk to the water taxi in less than 10 minutes, or It is also a nice drive to Limone to the north and Sirmione to the southeast as well as many other towns. We are sad to be driving away today but truly can’t wait to come again

Stayed in Salò and enjoyed the luxury hotel Laurin and its facilities. Excellent location with walking distance to the promenade of Salò. We enjoyed a great breakfast and dinner from the balcony restaurant overlooking lake Garda. The pool and adjacent relaxing areas are amazing for a morning swim and reading books in a peaceful environment. We forgot some clothes when we checked out and the hotel was so helpful in organising this to be sent to us. The hotel is elegantly decorated with a unique mix of old and classical furniture and modern decor and art. I would recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the Garda area.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in mid October and I honestly cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Anything negative at the time (small indeed) is insignificant to me now as I write this review. From the moment we drove up to the entrance (car pick up at train station was booked through the hotel), I felt like I had stepped into a scene from Downtown Abbey (Italian style). It was raining and we were greeted with umbrellas at the car, with the reservation manager waiting at the steps for us. I’ve never had a better greeting at a hotel in all my travels. This hotel exudes Italian charm and friendliness in a way we have not experienced in Italy before. I wish I knew the names of each person who worked the front desk - all were equally friendly and helpful in every way. We ate breakfast every morning on the deck overlooking the pool and a great view of the lake. The buffet for us was more than adequate (and we didn’t even order an omelette). I loved being able to ask for my cappuccino first thing (the server was so sweet). Our room overlooked the pool and had a small balcony with a lake view. We sat by the pool one day for an afternoon drink and loved getting served there. I usually make it a rule to never go back to the same place twice, but I may have to make an exception for Hotel Laurin. I didn’t want to leave and wish we had booked our entire time in Italy right there in Salo at this hotel. Also, short and nice walk to the central part of town where you can catch the ferry to other towns.

What a superb property. Can't be beat. The service, from the front desk to the dining staff, was always "on." Everyone -- every last person -- was so helpful and polite. The food was delicious and the views, magnificient. The room was great. The bed linens were soft and the room was quiet. And the common areas both inside and outside are charming and quintessentially Italian. So glad we chose this place. Thank you for such a nice stay.

We had the most lovely stay at Hotel Laurin. We were greeted outside on our arrival by caring, friendly staff and our cases were immediately taken to our room. From the minute we arrived to our departure we were made to feel very valued as guests and were shown every courtesy. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, who were all genuinely kind, caring and smiley. Our room, a front lake view , was a beautiful, large traditional room, very comfortable with everything we needed. Supremely comfortable bed, mini bar and tea/coffee making facilities. They provided a turn down service too. The hotel building is outstandingly beautiful with a lovely outdoor pool and gardens. We dined in the evening and at breakfast. The food and service on both occasions was excellent. We will definitely return to this wonderful hotel.

Loved everything about this hotel, although some might be disturbed by the road noise. We had dinner on the terrace which was superb. The staff are brilliantly trained and charming. The pool is lovely and the garden area is stunning. We enjoyed swimming and relaxing. Poolside bat service was good but could have been more frequent! The interior is absolutely wonderful, with antiques and original features. Breakfast was the best I've ever had and we really appreciated the classical music and free Prosecco. It's worth asking for a room in the old part of the hotel as they certainly seem to have more charm ( though the modern rooms are well-decorated and smart if that is your preference). The staff could not have done more for us, even arranging chilled Prosecco and glasses ready for our evening cruise. We will definitely return.
