Le Cheval Blanc - Village Montana

The apartments are in a fantastic location. There is a good boot room with lockers that leads out directly onto the piste so it literally is ski in and ski out. We were lucky enough to be on the same side as the boot room so we could walk downstairs, if you are on the other side of the hotel, you will need to use the lift and walk across reception. Our room was clean, tidy and had everything we needed. The kitchen area was well appointed and they left a small bag of cleaning products to use which was a nice touch. The rooms are quite dated but everything worked and this is a budget place. There is a supermarket and other shops nearby. There are some good apres ski bars on the piste directly outside the hotel, Jaspers was a favourite and they do excellent food. This is in the quiet area of the village but there is a free shuttle bus that stops outside the apartments that we used to get to the other areas. This is a budget apartment but it has a lot of positives and we enjoyed our stay.

Just returned from a weeks stay here and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Some reviews are mixed on here and I can see why, if your expectations are higher than your budget, then you maybe a little disappointed. Not the case with us. It was great! Well equipped apartment, fantastic Restaurant in the building, (reserve ahead!) comfy bed, good shower, friendly reception staff, access to pool at neighbouring apartments (small fee), good kitchenette, balcony with lovely view, ski/boot room, ski in and out to the ski room door!!! It's brilliant! It is located in the lower part of the resort but you can get the lift up to the walkway overhead which takes you up to the upper resort area without having to walk up the hill. There are restaurants and supermarkets nearby. The skiing in VT is incredible and the sports centre is worth a visit. Would definitely return.😊

We had a great time in Val Thorens. Le Cheval Blanc is near the lifts and the skischool. There is a supermarket nearby. P2 parking is available if the garage is full.

Fast service upon arrival. Although not possible at first, they still managed to get us a parking space inside their building which was perfect. The appartment was situated right next to the slopes and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay.

Having looked at the reviews before arriving I was pretty optimistic with my expectations. However I can say we were more than happy with the location of the accomodation and the ability to ski in and ski out (once you work out how to do that) We were on the 5th floor and had a two bedroomed apartment (with two additional sofa beds). Having two bathrooms was valuable and although compact and bijou the apartment did everything we needed it to do. We rarely had to queue for the lifts and opted to take the stairs as much as possible. Having the intersport shop based there was such a bonus and enabled us to collect all our gear as soon as we arrived. We didn't need to have any heating on in the apartment, it was a perfect temperature and the showers weren't any issue for us either. My only small critisism would be having to empty the bins ourselves as no one serviced our rooms at all for the full week we were there. Clean towels and bins emptied would have been nice. One huge plus for us was the bakery just a few metres up the road, we made full use of that every morning and it was fabulous! The location of Residence le Cheval Blanc is excellent for the slopes and I would consider staying here when we return to Val Thorens.

The ‘Comfort’ room, which we paid more for, did not have the quality, size or aspect that we were expecting.
