Domaine de la Maison Neuve

My wife, 15 year old son and I were cycling looking for places to stay in the Loire in the future so we cycled up the driveway of this place. My God, our greeting was from the female owner meeting us on the driveway with a sour face and rudeness. She did not ask what we were doing there but launched straight away into having a go at us for being on her land! I told her that Google Maps brought us here. Her response was, "I DON'T CARE", "DON'T TELL ME ABOUT GOOGLE MAPS". She then told me never to go there again..... Deal 🤣! If the choice was between sleeping on a bench or staying in this place I'd sleep on the bench. I know we didn't look like tourists but we were English on bicycles in the Loire!! How anyone with a customer focused business can be so rude to people they have never met before astounds me. I would seriously recommend that anybody considering staying here thinks about their choice very carefully because I strongly suspect that this woman would be an absolute nightmare to deal with if there's any question about the property or the service. Also to note you cannot walk or cycle anywhere from this property without taking your life in your hands. Either side of it are the D943 and the D41. Both of these are fast roads with no pedestrian paths or cycle paths. There is nothing close enough to make the risk worth it. You may be told about a waterfall etc on part of the Indre in the closest village St-Jean-St-Germain. It's quite picturesque but when you arrive you quickly realise that there's large gangs of teenagers on motorbikes and bicycles flying around pulling wheelies in front of cars and jumping in the water which isn't too clean. Loche, the next town, is a lovely place. It's historical and picturesque with lots of shops, restaurants and cafes. If you want to park your car up and explore, stay there or even the beautiful Chateau Mont-félix opposite.....if you have the money!!

Un cadre magnifique !! Les chambres sont soignées et très confortables. Idéalement situé pour un séjour en famille ,ou entre amis ... De plus Clarisse et Stéphane sont des hôtes charmants. Merci beaucoup pour ce séjour express, mais nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir ! 🤗 Isabelle & Aziz

1 nuit près de Loche Deuxième séjour dans cette magnifique demeure (au calme) à proximité de Loches et de nombreux sites. Accueil sympathique et bons conseils de la part de Clarisse. Chambre et parties communes meublées avec beaucoup de goût. Bon petit déjeuner.
