Stayed in this beautiful boutique hotel for 2 nights. The location is fantastic as you have the beach to the right and restaurants on your doorstep. It was comfortable, clean and was perfect for my stay in Saint Jean de Luz. There are steps to the reception but I’m sure you could get help with your luggage if asked. There is a lift thereafter to the 2 upper floors. I’d definitely recommend this hotel and most importantly I’d return. Thank you for looking after me.

St Jean de Luz is an attractive fishing/harbor/beach town on the southwest coast in the Basque region. Hotel Txoko is well located in the center of it. It is medium quality as a place to stay and feels more like a hostel, but it is comfortable enough. Unfortunately the host was called away for a family emergency and the person filling in seemed quite irritated to be there. He also had a cold and was coughing and sneezing as he put together a very ordinary breakfast for us the next morning - one that he didn't seem to realize he was to provide! Honestly, don't book the breakfast, just buy something in town and you'll do better. Our whole experience may have been different if the actual owner had been on property - and we hope his emergency resolved well.

We loved this hotel, it has lots of character and is located in the heart of the old town a stones throw from the beach. Staff were very helpful both in the run up to our stay (helping to advise on which public parking to use) and when we arrived. Rooms are reasonable size for a short stay, bathroom was a little small but manageable. As I said the hotel in right in the heart of the old town. our room overlooked the street which was lovely but it was noisy at night and we resorted to using ear plugs at night (available in reception). Very much enjoyed our stay and the town of Saint-Jean-de-Lux.

It is a 3 story tiny cozy and clean hotel right in the hard of old town. Services are very limited. Unless you reserved breakfast early the day before , no breakfast possibility. We checked in around 7 pm and by then there was nobody at the reception. Thankfully they left us the keys. The main problem of this location is that the rooms are right above the main evening restaurant/ partying scene in town. People party till 3 am every night . Sleeping is possible only with completely closed windows, TV on and ear plugs…

Pretty hotel with a perfect location Very good location, close to the beach and perfect for the old town streets. Great welcome. Very helpful. Loved our room over looking the street. A tiny word of warning, if you have a front room on a Saturday night, the bar next door is open until 2am and plays loud music. But other nights were quiet.

We booked a non-cancellable stay. The hotel informed us a few days later that there would be night-time noise due to a city festival during the period and that they were offering a free cancellation. We requested this and it was granted without any problems. We are very satisfied with the service.
